Wow. Bad ass ! Those guys aren't wasting any time ! Did you give yourself a E.T. Or goal to having running ?

Not really on the timeline. I need to do some "serious" rigging on this deal so it will take a bit of time. I'm putting a lot of the $$ from the sale of my old one in it though so it should go fast.

What are your options for power and what is recommended ? I want to say a 40hp 2stroke Merc doesn't exist in the states. Other than going with a used tohatsu that everyone else seems to be running.

Cool build thread!!

Pic #2 in post 44, pretty cool little "handle" they made up for the resin can.

i noticed that too. everytime i do glass work i always wonder about the big productions and how much "waste" they go through. i literally throw everything away. cans, brushes, rollers, etc. its cool to see how they manage to keep costs low for their work. tomato paste cans must be the way to go!

**RD,hope this is ok to post?**

Guys, the #10 can had been the go to mixing cup industry wide for a long time.Resin/gel builds great heat as it kicks, hot enough the metal can can burn you.Plastic obviously would suck for this.
Before the economy tanked there was a guy who made a living selling and delivering cases(6 cans to a case) of cans out of a full sized van with the fiberglass extended height lid.He had a box truck for bigger loads too.
The cases were multi purpose, could use them as a step stool,or like I did using a 2x12 on top as a scaffold for the taller molds. The cardboard case itself after the cans were used out of it were used to line the assembly guys work bench for wetting out tabs.Nothing went to waste.

Dave, ask Lee where he's getting cans. After the economy tanked the "can guy" just disappeared.

Dave, I think I saw that you were gonna cut out the engine well and do some "serious rigging" are you gonna throw a wackier on the back or do some kind of inboard setup? Perhaps a 12' mini v-drive(would be pretty awesome) or something of that nature? Would there even be enough room for something like that? I'm sure others, including myself are dying to know your plans. Throw us a bone!

Looks bitchin' with the triple axle trailer. Triple is the only way to go, no matter what size the boat is!

What is the max weight or most hp outboard you can fit? What about double outboards options?

You would have to do a lot of custom work to get small outboards to counter rotate.. Not impossible but just a lot of work. I know for sure it will float over 250lbs if you ballast it hard enough in the front.. Lol

There was 1 10'r built with twin outboards. A member boat211 had it listed for sale on this site a number of years ago. The pictures are no longer available or I would have pasted the link. I don't think they counter rotated though.

Just run a single 60 EFI FormulaRace from mercury. At 247lbs you're under weight and high on HP.

Or two years [emoji12]

It's already been a year. So highly doubt he'll get it done in another year. I think it's more likely to get up on the waterski then finish that thing. He's had what four or five minis? And only one has ever seen the water
