Nothing like spending a few weekends restoring 100yo hardware..
I was thinking the same thing. You know the make things called gloves?

Yeah . Your hands look a 100 years old! What you dunking them in!
Fuck dude!
I don’t envy “the peel” your hands are going to be doing the next few days.
A dead guy floating a few days doesn’t look as bad as your fingers.Get some gloves, man!!
Them's some P Diddy diddlers there! You know the make things called gloves?
@JUSTWANNARACE , a trick I learned working on my brother's 100yo house with hardware that had been painted...a lot: thrift store crock pot on low, all the hardware you can fit, then fill with whatever cheap cola you can find. In 5-6 hours, all the paint and oxidation wipe off.
Really made me wonder about cola though

Used to clean my brass Ping irons with Coke, works wonders.

Im gonna hurl.
I think it’s great that you are restoring the original hardware! It will probably last another hundred years and is better quality than the Chinese crap everyone sells today!
Nice work on the brass.
Hoping you & the crew wore masks/respirators doing the blasting & painting.
Doing great work is one thing. You got that handled. Killing your self slowly is another.
Take care of your self first so you can continue to do great work.
I remember when the concrete guys would spray coke on a fresh pour to expose the aggragate in the driveway or walks. This job in Salem?
What's the budget on the restoration?
Looks great hopefully it's profitable in the long run.
Upper roof was shot, reframed/repaired 2 layers of 3/4 PT plywood installed and new PVC roof..

Gonna need a pic of inner thighs for comparison

Will you apply a clear coat to the brass to keep it shiny for a while? Or is the natural patina gonna be the plan?
I have never been able to work with gloves on. Especially when doing this, stripping, wire brush and finish with 1000 grit. The chems I'm using would probably melt latex/nitrile to my hands anyway.
I have never been accused of doing shit the "right way". But I have been accused of just getting shit done
I'm dyin' laughing.PM me for the good pics. She doesn’t share with him, only me.
Damn, you don't mess around do ya! Looking good! Some more of the window restoration.
