Attached is a normal release day from Davis Dam and today(7/19/22). Flows are reduced to kill Caddisfly larvae. I’m planning on lunching at Jack Smith at 9am, beaching about halfway to Topock(carefully off the beach), and hang until about 6-7pm. I know about the sandbars on this part of the river. Anyone ever boat here with this small of a release? Thanks for any insight!

At this moment the water is at some of the highest it gets. From what the release data shows it should get to its lowest point from 3pm to about 9pm. (takes about 7 to 7.5 hours to get down to Jack Smith in regards to water release and level). As I am sure you do, Just watch for high points and you will be OK.

Totally normal at launch. I’ll take some pics as it drops.
Have fun, we will be on the water in about 15 minutes on the wave runners. Water just looks toooooooooooooooooo good to pass up a ride today.

We went down about 5 minutes south of Jack Smith, towed a boat to a ramp right past the bridge and messed around in the water down river for a bit. What kind of boat do you have? have to make sure to say hello next time we are all on the water.

Standard beige Lowes Tritoon I/o. Usually at the beach above Jacks beach or at X beach. You missed out on a hotdog or bratwurst today! Water dropped some, but less than a normal day. I’m guessing it just is a matter of time for the reduced flow to make it downriver. Here’s a pic at 4:30 when we left.

You should see it around 6:00, low low low. Either way you would have still been able to get back out, just a little shallow. Brats, you said the magic word...Next time. Wife had a craving so we got off the water around 2 then headed out for an early dinner.
