Cleaning and securing the swamp cooler means summer is behind us and the year is coming to a close.

It was a good year. Wife survived cancer, we took some cruises, new RV is a blast.

"Wife survived cancer..."
That makes for a damn good year, the rest is just a bonus ;)

Our house...well, significant progress on some fronts, some setbacks in others. All in all, pretty good though, and I'm grateful for it. All 5 of us are still here. Daughter graduates in a week!

The only thing constant is change.

Wild…

Major car issues, laid off, found a job, moved states, mom developed unknown health issue, more car issues, traded in on a new car. All within a 2-3 month span.

My anxiety and wallet were hit hard this year, but my family handled the changes well. Everything has been “fixed” except for my mom’s health issues, but she is making progress.

These last few months I have been the most relaxed I have been for a very long time, I’m excited about what the future holds.

Everything happens for a reason, we’re just along for the ride.

Wishing you all a great 2025.

Congrats on the cancer. Best to you and the Mrs. To get into an enjoyable groove and enjoy a bit more. 2024 was not that for the wife and I but I am thankful for all that we have. Hoping for a good 2025 us and the same for you and the Mrs. Being cancer free. 👍

I survived a heart attack I didn’t know I was having, the wife is back on her feet after getting in a fight with a truck and breaking both legs, kid and dog are still alive. The only thing stolen in front of my house from me this year was my tailgate. Business is kicking ass.

It’s been a bit of a shitshow, but could be worse lol.

Business wise 2024 was kinda a survival year, ate into savings a bit keep it all going. Had a very fun summer and met some new friends at Havasu. Daughter graduates from HS in June, we didn't have as many daddy daughter days as in the past few years. I feel like things are changing a bit, not all bad not all good. Hoping for a little better year business wise in 2025. Family is healthy which is most important. Lost my best friend Buddy the Golden Retriever in May, but just got a new puppy that I'm already in love with.. Sorry to ramble on, we will see what 2025 brings, I know it will be different with my daughter growing up, we have been very close these last few years and spent a lot of time together. Bring it on, let's go!

Another good year.
Worked less, made the same amount of money.
Family health is great.
My Dobie survived an intestine problem.
Trump was elected President, again!
Looking forward to many good things in the following years.

River trips were down another year.. 👎

… Have been wondering a bit lately about your wife’s health status… That is really great news that she is cancer free👍… i’m sure there were others that were worried about her status… but afraid to ask🤷🏽‍♀️

… As far as me …2024 has been 100% better than 2023… there wasn’t the large amount of friends in my age group passing away as there had been in recent years… I wonder what 2025 is going to bring???…What I learned in 2024 is you can’t just skate through life… that you actually have to put a little effort into it…Who knew🤷🏽‍♀️

…The biggest plus was … @NEIGHBOR GIRL…The daughter I never had …had her first child… I am pseudo grandpa and am loving it…never knew life could be so joyous….
… That little girl is magical …we went to the Habit for burgers last night. The restaurant was empty …within a matter of minutes people started coming in the door… And the first thing they would do is stare at that little 5 month old baby …and she would stare right back… The restaurant instantaneously filled up… A fun time… But $43 for a couple of char-burger combos… Well, there were a few add-ons🤷🏽‍♀️

I turned 55 this year, which I was actually looking forward to. After being in the same house for 25 years we started looking at some of the retirement communities in the area. They are nice!...resort style pools, golf, bars, restaurants, clubhouse, gym...and no yard to maintain! And now with my upcoming hip replacement surgeries, I'll fit right in. 🤣

For me……. 2024 is not over. Big things still coming up this month.

Still ahead this month…….. Will I or Won’t I, become a grand parent on my birthday……. Next week?

No matter what…….. My kid is having a baby next week. Should I go to Phoenix to see my new grand baby? Hell NO…… I am heading for Australia for a month. Send me a pic of the kid…….. lol

You grandparents……. Take the above with the humor that it’s meant. It’s hard enough coming to terms with some little kid calling me Grandpa. It truly makes me feel old just thinking about it. I just feel younger when I have not achieved Grandpa status. LOL

My future plans……… Starting in 2028, I will begin spoiling the shit out of my Grandkid. Should be out of diapers by then, and speaking clearly. LOL Until then……. Send pics.

Again, just some humor.

congrats to you and your wife. thats great news. at my house, i was telling the wife the other day this is a year i wish would just end. I tried a big career move and it did not work out, took a pretty big hit finacialy and still not recovered, I am working on it though. im hoping for a much better 2025, wife might be up for a big promotion and I am looking for better fit career wise. sleep is tough to come by for me the past week or so, i refuse to not give my kids the christmas they deserve so im burning the midnight oil some nights on projects to hopefully sell off, and other nights i just cant turn my brain off so i lay there awake beating myself up about some of the choices i made.

Congrats on your wife beating cancer.

Overall we had a great year. My dad is getting healthier he was able to move from our house back home in May and has been doing great since. We unfortunately lost our 4 legged friend back in March that was a tough one. Business this is our best year ever. My kids are healthy my wife is healthy I am healthy from what I can tell. We got a new to us boat this year did many river trips and are enjoying desert season. Time goes by to fast so good or bad any day on this earth is better than the alternative. Looking forward to what 2025 brings.

Sleep is overrated...I still struggle at times, not able to downshift or physically f'krd up.

The Christmas your kids and wife deserve isn't determined by monetary costs. The toys I remember from my youth are remembered because I played with them with my parents, cousins or siblings, Christmas Day.
I also vividly remember the great "Reddi-whip" incident of Christmas '85...grease stain was on the wallpaper until summer of 92, when we textured and painted 🤣

This year was pretty good overall wife’s health has stabilized, Friday will be a year since I retired. I have been having the juice put in the L4 and L5 also the left knee. I’ve never mentioned on here that last December at UCSF I had an A Typical Lipoma removed from my left leg, right above my knee and into my upper thigh. It was the size of a football, but I thank god everyday it wasn’t cancer. I go Thursday for another MRI and get the results the same day to make sure everything is okay.

So overall it was a good year and adjusting to not working after 50 years, 47 at the same company I hope all of you are doing well and a little early Happy New Year 🙂.

Lost a lot of friends and customers this year. My Franchise has lost their minds. Thank goodness for the boat community who helped keep the doors open. Got to party with Kid Rock and a handful of musicians for a night. Crazy experience. My Family has had a good year of health. Had an awesome summer of boating. So I’m going with a good 2024.

Great news about your wife beating cancer TPC. Unfortunately my wife didn't and passed June 28th. 3 years of watching her decline and the effects chemo had on her has pretty well decimated me. Hoping for better things in the new year. At least to this point I am relatively healthy and I have Charley the Jeep Dog keeping me from going to the train station. Bring on 2025, can't get any worse. Hopefully lol

I'm doing alright...

June, and July were wild months though, in June I put an offer in on a house in havasu, middle of June my second son was born, July I closed escrow on the havasu house and sold the temecula house.

Overall not too bad, I have been spending a bunch of money fixing problems at the new house though. There were a ton of things wrong the seller hid and the inspector didn't catch, but atleast I finally have a garage over 1600 square feet.

And most importantly, my boys are healthy and absolutely love the crap out of each other

Bad country song for me

Most stressful year at work maybe ever but made solid progress.

Put my boat in the shop in March where it still is with not much progress made, this should be a thread to itself if not for the last item in this post. Needless to say I missed the lake this summer which is my happy place

Got my car totaled by gettinggetting hit by an illegal immegrant. Bought a new truck and had the catalytic converter cut out of it two weeks later at a parking lot.

Found out my mom had bone cancer and had to have her jaw removed and replaced. Thankkfully she's doing great now

Wednesday we had our second daughter and yesterday we found out she's has brain issues and remains in the NICU. What she'll be able to do and when they are still working through and we most likely won't have answers for a while.

It's hard to have hope for 25 but I'm doing g what I can lol.

we were able get christmas handled for the kids last night, they are young 4 & 6, so we were able to go a little light but still get them what we wanted to. the wife and i are on the same page, we are both healthy, and have a roof over our heads and food on the table so we are good. I try to keep reminding myself that I need to take care of myself to be able to take care of my family. i got out of bed last night at about 930 and went to gym, I just kind of wandered around and did small sets and about 3 miles on the treadmill. it felt good to sweat, and when i got home i slept like a rock. so i think i will head there again tonight after the kids go out. the holidays always stress me out, this year more than most. but we have what we need and are healthy so Im thankful.

2024 was stressful. Taking on new challenges, running a business and managing cash flow for the first time was uncomfortable. Seeing the writing on the wall that it was time for a change in something I put my heart and soul into for the past 10 years was emotional and hard. A little bit of depression and stress caused a few heath scares from dwelling on the inevitable.

It was all good experiences, but it was tough. Made the right changes and ready to kick 2025 in the teeth. I’m looking forward to the new year and a new mindset. Very motivated.

First quarter was super stressful trying to get projects done before the Super Bowl, then work seemed to drop off a cliff. Looking to pick up big time in January, but slow times bring tension in the office. Ready to get past it.

Busy year for the family, daughter gets her permit in a couple weeks and I was able to pick her up her first car few months back. Been hiding it in storage every since, plan to sneak it in the garage Xmas eve for a nice little surprise on Xmas morning. Me and the wife have been joyriding it all over the place when we go out running errands, just to keep the battery charged. Normally it's the kid sneaking out the car, this time it's the opposite lol.

Made some progress on my Daytona, plan to put it back on the dolly in my garage after the holidays and get cranking. Engine ready to Dyno, then build the pump, then finish rigging. Tall order to have it on the water by summer, but gonna try.

Oh ya, and Trump won! 😁

2024 was a year of change, because of loss of our son it’s only been 3 months sometimes change is hard to get used too when you miss someone !

Work has been really good in 24. But it is consuming my life. Not enough river trips. But I can use the money for my project house. So I just keep working around the clock. Problem is the harder I work the more jobs come through. So taking a break from work is not happening. There could be no work so more is better than none has been my Attitude.

I am ready for my year to be over and holding on to a positive finish. Start with the bad. Work was busy as hell, GC on multiple very large remodel/ additions. Each over $800k. They all wrapped up at same time and customers have been pulling the endless punchlist game and stating they don't have full final payment amount currently. Not my fault they added endless upgrades!! I am protected and I plan for this but multiple at same time stings. What should have been a great end has left me digging into savings while trying to get the $200k across these jobs which is my money paid. All subs and materials paid. I will get my money but when I don't know and sucks going into holidays. I love creating these visions but really hate people sometimes and alot of GC are saying the same thing I am.

The good, gave our daughter the most epic year ever. I have never experienced this myself as my parents just couldn't. They however did the most for us kids with what they had. Always grateful. She had the following and is so sweet and appreciative. She might think we are rich and this shit is normal. Good news is any guy she dates is screwed as her vacations are not cheap🤣🤣

- week in Mammoth at the Village
- week in Cabo
- week in Puerto Vallarta
- Havasu many times
- Vail Lake camping
- Beach camping
- Disneyland

On top of that we are all healthy and my wife career is booming, hoping to be a trophy husband soon. We are truly blessed and never forget that.

You also might not fit in. Be sure to read the contract carefully. 😂😜

I survived this year. Lots of home remodeling (DIY). Didn’t get to the lake much, and no Vacations. 2025 should be better. 😉

My industry got hammered this year so 2024 was the worst on record for us. Ironic as 2023 was the best year we ever had.

But with the downturn it gave me some time to branch out into some other endeavors which are panning out so 2025 is looking much better.

All first world problem shit though. In 2024 we sailed the bvi, went to loto and Hawai’i, and bought a havasu pad so even with the downturn I can’t complain.

Lined up her retirement cash flows and gave notice at a young age.

2024 was a good year for me.

Cancer free thus far (another ct scan next week)

1st full year living in LHC

Went on an Alaskan cruise which ranks top of the list of best vacations.

Boated more this summer than any previous. Being 5 mins from the ramp has its benefits.
