Its Ride Guide which was the Mercury Quicksilver cable steering. The cables are hard to find now, as they are no longer made. You can find them on Ebay... just be sure which version matches yours as there are several types.

Well that would be the wrong bridge and wrong lake.. The bridge in the photo is on Lake Austin, and was not there in the mid 70's.. The races were held on Town Lake ( next lake down the river ) but still in Austin.. Yes they were a great event..
