I would have to agree. Pioneer head units burn the ground trace on the preamp leads very easy. I have also seen it happen just from plugging the rca's in while the amp and head unit are turned on. If if had the motor running you would probably hear intense alternator whine.

Definitely sounds like an RCA or ground issue. Try a different set of RCA's first.
