The whole thing is such a cluster and being right across from the high school where they do not have buses either really complicates the drop off traffic.
Actually, I am going to take the other route to the cul de sac area. The kids have to walk further to class, but that set up does not allow or promote passing on the right as they will be dropped off at the curb on the right.
I will. I consider us lucky - it's only money. But sometimes things happen so action is set in motion. Looks like I am the "chosen" mom to initiate some change. Our family just started at school there this year, so we might as well start making our mark. LOL!
Exactly. She was completely unaware and frankly I was caught by surprise when I saw the truck passing so close as I was trying to tell her to stop opening her door. It just makes no sense that you would pass on the passenger of a student drop off zone.
Totally agree. When I talked to the office they confirmed that this is not the first accident they have had. I know it won't be the last. I do plan making my opinion known at school that they need to update their parking lot protocol before someone does get hurt.
You are right! Damon is a personal friend and his work is top notch. However, this damage involves more than just the dent with the paint damage and rubber trim around the wheel well.
Thank you and yes she is all good. She opened her door into his moving truck while we were stopped (not parked). Fortunately we are not at odds with the story. We did open our door into his truck, but it just does not seem like common sense that he should have even been that close in a school...
Yes, you are right. I called the auto body shop and they said in order to get the paint lines correct they have to drop the bumper and remove the tail light. I guess they don't mask anymore. I did ask if they had any discounts and he did me a solid and offered 10% off. Still painful but a...
It is common curtesy and generally agreed that we all form a single file line. The admins in the office also agreed that it should be single file but upon asking for the parking lot written protocol is clearly states traffic can pass on the right. Looks like his is in the clear.
The EB crowd is huge here too but mostly at the high school level. There are regular accidents and twice in the past year I have witness EMT's hauling students off the street in an ambulance. Scary!
No cameras in that area but there is not a dispute in what happened. I did take your advise and see if the school has a preprinted plan for the parking lot. I just received it and it is the smoking gun. Looks like the F150 does have the right to pass on the right (at least per the written...
