My daughter and friends are in Havasu for spring break. She left her purse in a Uber last night and filed a lost and found claim. Uber is saying driver responded with nothing left in car. She has air pods in the purse and can track the driver but it updates location to slow to track the guy down. She filed a police report and also went to the guys apartment without any luck so far.

Car is not at his apartment and cops said they are trying to locate him.

So far I agree. How many maroon Ford Explorers are there in Havasu driving around all day that the PD hasn't found him yet.

Can she not call the driver directly. I know some of my riders have called me to look in my car (California though) Not that that would help seeing as it seems he is MIA.
The one time I used an Uber in Havasu is swear the driver was a tweaker so good luck.

She doesn't have his number and has been unsuccessful getting it from Uber. I guess the phone number is available before and during ride, but when the ride is complete the phone number is no longer visible.

Interesting As I’ve had riders call me after the ride being completed and they left something in my car.
If I have it give them a rough time frame when I can get it back to them
Or work something out.
Again in Cali. Maybe the app differs just a bit.

It’s just has ask an AI assistant for the most part.
The only time I had an actual person I needed to talk to was reporting a fender bender when I rear ended.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.
I look through a little more and see if I can find an actual phone number though.

Thank you very much. What is troubling me is driver responded nothing left in car but tracking her Apple air pods says differently.

Just thinking outside the box. Could the air pods of fallen out of her purse in the car and he doesn’t see them and she lost her purse somewhere else. Or maybe the next rider took her purse.
Don’t think that’s the case as he is not returning or responding to anything.
But I have had some people adamant that they left something in my car and I haven’t had another a rider and yet nothing is in my car.

They went from rotary park at midnight back to the house. They watched the air pods travel all over Havasu today. They checked rotary park this morning and came up empty. Havasu PD checked traffic cameras in town and saw the car cross the bridge within the time period the air pods were tracking in the same area.

Get four or five of your biggest, meanest looking tattooed friends to go to his address. Click on the app to request a ride from his pad to a local biker bar. Then wait and see what happens. That could be more fun than calling the cops.

I wish I was in Havasu to sort this out but I'm in LA try to help remotely.

The sad part is I’m suspiciously parked in front of a vacant commercial building and I haven’t seen a cop on the ride over or drive by and I’m a half mile from the PD

Best of luck to getting your daughter’s property back. Sadly, I watched one of my 3 sets of AirPods held in captivity for months. I left them on a Hawaiian flight. I figured they were long gone. However, every flight in and out of Honolulu I’d get a notification that it was left behind and gave a location in the cargo/repair hangers. So one trip I decided to hunt them down. That just added to the frustration as no one really cared to help find them. Wend down personally & sent e-mails to no avail. LOL

I hope that you have a better outcome.

I called a friend of mine who is a retired Navy seal in Havasu. I gave him all of the info and he passed in on to a friend of his at Havasu PD. Less than a hour later my daughter got the call that she can pick up her purse from the Uber driver at his apartment building. She's on her way over there now.

I'm always amazed at what great friendships can achieve. Thanks to everyone at RDP that were willing to help.

It was not the Uber driver. A man and a woman stole the purse. Police went to the apartment building where the air pods last pinged. Spoke to a resident who recommended they investigate guy in unit #1. Guy ends up confessing and taking them to the purse. The purse was behind a locked gate and inside a steel box at Site 6. Everything is still in purse except for cash. Dirt bag was arrested and has been booked into jail. He is being arraigned tomorrow morning and will most likely have to pay restitution to my daughter for the missing cash.

Havasu PD came through and did the leg work to get this resolved. Havasu is down one less scumbag at least for a while.

I happened to walk into a meeting by accident at the marina last summer. It was the Riviera meeting with the restaurant owner. I introduced myself to him and he is my age and super cool. He's from Scottsdale and has two restaurants there. I snuck a peak at the plans and they looked over the top awesome. The restaurant has 270 degrees of glass facing the water and will be a full service restaurant with a huge bar. I was told they were shooting for a summer 2026 opening.

As far as the rack storage I have no idea, but they did complete the new ramp and docks last year that are for storage use only. I would assume that the rack storage will start this year.
