Got to play Rancho Vista in Palmdale today, hadn’t been there in years. Weather was great, it usually sucks out that way and the course was in good shape, had a good time, but don’t anticipate returning again for several more years.

I played Cross Creek Sunday for my uncles 60th. Very fun course but we got there early to enjoy a nice breakfast before the round only to be disappointed that the clubhouse only had breakfast sandwiches.

After the round we went to grab a beer and the bar was closed which was annoying.

Course was fantastic though!

I don’t think I’ve been in this thread before, but I learned to golf at the Westridge driving range. Never got good enough to play the course lol.

One day I’ll be good enough to not go to a course and embarrass myself🤣

I need to play this again. I have nightmares about the rough and getting destroyed in a tournament years ago.

Dam. We grew up in the same area, Westridge was our home course in highschool. It was very nice back then but has fallen off since.

What highschool did you go to?

My dad lives in La Habra but from 4th grade on I went to school in Norco.

If you skated we might have crossed paths, all my buddies in La Habra were skaters.

I don’t even have a driver… Only a 2 iron and I beat almost everyone I play with! You can do it!
I think it is actually a 2 iron, none of my buddies can hit it lol. But my clubs are over 40 years old…

I lived at the La Habra skate park all through middle school but was never very good. Small world. I’m sure we have some mutual friends.

That’s about the time I was there, 6-9th grade. The rule was we could go as far as we could skate, the good ole days…

Naw, you're good. Most people struggle with drivers anyway. There has plenty of time that I leave it at home. I can put of a decent score and then I can put up a terrible score and I hover in the high single digit handicap, most of golf buddies are easily over 20 handicap, we still have a blast. Sure we shit talk but that's part of the fun.

Best line of the year we had. Buddy hits is put short, asked him if his tramp stamp says "hit it harder". Now it's used every outing lol.

You ever slice a ball off the tee so bad it hits a house and bounces back onto the fairway? I have🤣

Golfing at Laughlin Ranch as a member , the #5 green and 18 is full of bird shit making it unplayable. Burro are also destroying a large portion of the greens. They're trying to instal fencing but it's not working.

Yup lol. Even hit a tree off the tee so hard it went behind the tee box so had to hit my second shift from further back then my first.

One of Buddy's, he's a lefty toed it so bad it went almost 90 degree left and went under the drink a cart lady and hit her in the leg.

You spend enough time on the course, shits going to happen lol.

I teed off once and hit a low liner. The ball hit a boulder, bounced back over my head and hit a house about 75 yards behind me.

Yeah…I didn’t even go look for the ball. 😂

A fellow in our foursome tees off and tops it into the creek that crosses in front of the tee box. The ball hits a rock in the creek and the ball comes shooting back at us. He ends up 15 yards back after one stroke. He re-hits from there. Same result. Tops it into the creek, ball hits a rock and it bounces straight back again. He is now 30 yards behind the whites. Inconceivable!

I remember all the burro tracks on the greens last time I played there, it sucked!

Played one of my best rounds in year last weekend. Figured it was time to get some new irons. 🥲. Turns out the golf gods didn’t appreciate it. Toed my first drive into a tree 45 degrees to the right and it didn’t get much better.
Good news is my Whoop tells me exactly how relaxing my round was, or not.

I'm waiting on some new shafts for my irons. Got a fitting at club champion last weekend kept my heads. I'm hoping this helps my iron game. It's not going well lol.

I know I'm improving all around though but I pick up strokes with my driver and wedges and lose on approach.

Shot on 81 today and did not feel like a played well, not long ago that would have felt like I could not play better.

I've shot 81 three times, can't break 80!

Played Riverview today, waited on the 2 some in front of our foursome all day, guys were acting like they were on the PGA taking 5 minutes to read each shitty putt.

Yep, yesterday I had 40 putts at Hansen Dam, very easy course. Just had no feel whatsoever and I have no idea why not. Fucken golf…

Definitely happens. Played like trash on the front yesterday in perfect weather. Then 3 over on the back in the wind. With a double on 15.

Got to play Spanish Hills Camarillo today. Great course and I left a few golf balls behind but I had a great time. The greens were fast and treacherous. I 3 putt the first hole and thought here we go. But amazingly it was my only 3 putt and I only had 29 putts today. I can never figure this shit out…but at least I enjoy the heck out of it.🤷🏻‍♂️

Range day to figure out the curse of the new clubs. 😬. Good news is my putting was solid and the beer is cold. View attachment 1485561
I just got mine back after putting my new shafts and changing the end weight and lie. Feels so much better. I kept the heads. Just been hitting in the sim but the ball flight and control is so much better. I'll see how it translates in the course tomorrow.

My new custom fit callaway, shave 10 strokes
Off were so frustrating to learn. Good now but didn't expect that curve of extra 10
I play with a older set of x-18"s, been thinking about getting fitted for a new set but my swing always seems to be a work in progress. I took 2 sets of clubs and 5 drives down to get some credit, I got 20 bucks lol. I didn't hit the callaways yet but like the Cobra one length clubs.

I fought fitting for years. Now I won't but a club without some version of a fitting. I've gotten way more serious about getting better over the last few years and starting to pay attention to the data and the equipment and the balls make a huge difference.

I live my fitted clubs now. Not having time accommodate in real time for inpropoer clubs is worth every penney

I ordered straight though Callwway with my customers VIP account. For the fitting, Golf Range of Carlsbad. They fit all brands but the golf fitter on sight. She used to be the fitter for Callaway Carlsbad location

Is a fitting worth it? I’m at a 10.1 hcp. Play 1-2x/month. I’ve never had fitted clubs.

Yes it is. Couple big items

Shaft stiffness and length
Type of head
Angle of head, mine are a toe up +2
Type of grip

They really focus on ball spin speed and Angle. They dial in based on that criteria
