Made the mistake of clicking on an ad for fakes on Insta. Now my account gets bombed with every dealer selling the things. Anywhere from 49$ to 270$. Some brag about Swiss movement, some brag about no-one but a jeweller can tell the difference. Anyone have experience? Havent worn a watch since I started carrying a phone everywhere I go but looking at the ads has me thinkin.

Disclaimer, I personally would never buy or wear a fake Rolex.

The fakes are really good these days, some friends of mine recently went to Dubai and came home with some incredible fake Rolex watches, I'm not sure I could tell the difference. They paid about $250 for them. I think if you wanted to wear one you should probably get a Submariner as it's more believable than wearing a Gold Daytona. lol

I picked up a replica Bluesy in NYC last time I was out there, the fakes were $75.00-$100.00 and the replicas were $200.00-$300.00.

I ground on the dude a little and paid $200.00 I’ve always liked the bluesy, so I figured I’d try out a replica and see if it’s something I’d actually wear and enjoy. I’m glad I didn’t tie up money in a real one, as it turns out it’s not something I’d actually wear. The weight is annoying, it’s also bulky and hits and catches on things. For $200.00 it’s cool, for $20,000 that’s a big fuck no, it’s not for me. 🤷‍♂️

My buddy has a real one, sadly we couldn’t tell the difference 😂😂😂

My SIL is Chinese born and raised there. She goes to China several times per year for her business. She is a Chinese medicine store owner. She brings them back for her friend who sells them. These are the good ones and they sell for $280 to $500 bucks. They are pretty good but not as good as the real thing.

I think when you see a man wearing Rolex and you know has wealth, good business and is not N obnoxious dick you can say “cool, dude made it”. You can tell when a guy is faking it to make it, wearing a Rolex…. It may be real, stolen, gift from daddy or fake. For that reason I wear Omegas or some other Swiss unknown watch, so I don’t feel like a fake myself. I’ve seen good Chi-com fake Rolex’s, pretty hard to tell if it’s real.

You can still get batteries for your beeper. 😂
Mr Bobby....I had a cell phone 30 years ago while I played BB in Yorba Linda daily :)

It was a massive battery pack though

Also a problem with wearing a fake Rolex is that you'll get guys that will come up to you and want to talk about your watch, it's normal. Then you'll have to explain that it's just a fake. lol

The tell tale is usually the date magnification on a fake is not nearly as strong as a real one.

Real ones the magnification makes the day almost take up the entire lens

Sadly these replicas are pretty spot on, there may be some tells to the super fans of these types of things, but all this luxe fascination is mostly hood rats that can’t afford this shit anyways😂

After playing around with the knockoff it quickly became laughable when I see people wearing this stuff, real or fake🤷‍♂️

Buy land😉

Actually, Rolex's are fantastic investments. If you can manage a way to buy one new from a Rolex AD you could make thousands on them. A Submariner you would could make a few grand, a GMT you could almost double your money depending on the configuration. Same goes for Daytona's and the rest.

That's a realistic fake. Looks pretty damn close to my real Sub.

Who cares, I’ll bet more than 90% of the people can’t tell if it’s a replica. Sport that bitch. Pretty sure white works is not the only one sporting a replica either, just the only one to admit it.

Absolutely. I was just at my buddies jewelry shop a couple hours ago (got the wife some diamond studs for her bday). Went to high school with him. He sells Rolex and breitling and omega, chopard and the occasional other high end watch. I get all Our stuff from him.

If you bought a “basic” Rolex 6 years ago (sub, explorer 2 GMT) and still have it, you made about 4K on it. They’ve gone up (like everything else) over the past few years. They also go down though! During the recession he was buying used high end watches left and right on the cheap as people would slang them for quick money.

I like wearing a nice watch. Not to show off, just because I like The feel of it on my wrist. It’s almost like wearing a functional art piece. I like seeing others wear them too. And I look at them as investments but mostly as an heirloom for my kids. Daughters get diamond rings from their moms. Sons get guns and high end watches. 😁👍

Interesting point, “90% of people can’t tell”.

You gotta ask yourself why you’re wearing something like that be it real or fake? Is it to have others think more highly of you because of a show of wealth?

Honestly I always thought the bluesy was a cool looking watch, figured I’d buy one at some point. But after trying it out with the Fugazi, it made me think about it a bit more and decide it’s not a thing for me. Now when I see them o think they are all fakes, as who would pay $20k for something that costs $200.00 😂😂😂

I once knew a guy with a pink Rolex, now that thing was impressive 😂

I rarely wear mine. I sold my gold President because I never wore it (actually wish I still had it though). They spend all of their time in the safe. Like my guns though, I won't sell any more of them.

So Racey pointed out that the magnification on real vs fugazi is off. Here is a shot of that to start the comparison.

I think it’s subtle things like if you look at the 28, you can see it’s a little crooked and they don’t line up. That’s the difference between a real one and a fake one.

You guys are overthinking this.
I had a $20K Rolex back when I was n****r rich.
(Sold it for a small profit back when Deb got sick)
It’s worth twice that today.
But I rarely wore it. I always wore my Bulova’s.
I did not own it as a status symbol, and I’d have worn a good fake if I had one.
Anyone studying another man’s watch that closely may have issues!?😂😎

I made a deal with myself that I would buy a Rolex when I became owner of the family bizz. Well, it’s been 5 yrs now and I have yet to pull the trigger? Spending 15-20k is not the issue, but would I wear it. I wouldn’t at work as I don’t want to flash it around or when I’m out visiting a customer. So it would sit in a case in the closet 80% of the time.

But I would pay 200-300 for a rep just to see if I would wear one like you did.

Almost pulled the trigger on this one a few years back.
