Absolutely badass. Practice makes perfect!

Side note. Are millenials going to start hanging their TVs on the wall vertically? What about movie theater screens?

Practice runs for dealing with riots by the left that's coming. Remember the LA riots, caused by a single event with the beating of one man? ;) The preaching of these freshmen rebelling women are intoxicating the minds of the feeble, following like sheep:p:D

The tin foil hat and black chooper crowd are going nuts over that video

Lol Big time....

I think they did one in 2012 in LA as well, and one in Minneapolis, Boston, and Miami, Also Phoenix in 2015 for Jade Helm 15.... So while it's not like they do it all the time, they do have a history of doing them somewhat regularly.

But even if it wasn't a training exercise obviously that is the only thing they could say it was anyway. Just gnarly to see how fast they can get in and out and gone with that many guys, in that tight of an environment.

I thought the left said we couldn't call shitholes, shitholes, anymore?

Exactly, in many ways it's higher stakes than if they were going in and out of downtown in some shit hole.

Although it is LA, so that may actually apply :p

I'm not sure if this is a Vin or not, it happened last month but this was the first i'd heard of it.

Pretty badass stuff, all lights off flying between the buildings, and landing in the streets

Been doing some work at the 28 story MTA building at Union Station. Was told they drop in on the heli pad and start repelling over the side when they feel like it. We can tell when they came by as all our stuff on the roof is sprayed around. The LA police heli port is across the street. They use the rooftop as a pee spot. Easier to land there and pee in the roof drain rather than at the heli port and check in weapons etc. so I was told.

I'm sure they have "facilities" to practice on, so why do they need to shut down the city? I can only imagine it's practice for the real deal when the S hits the fan in DTLA.

They didn't shut down the entire city...

No shitty training facility with conex's stacked up in the middle of the desert is going to replicate an urban assault/rescue in a high-rise setting like a city. This isn't the first large-city urban training by SOF, and won't be the last.

The 160th is a crazy set of dudes. Have worked with them on multiple occasions. They mean business and are the last group of guys you want to mess with.

Not much margin or error there..... The Blackhawk rotor diameter did not leave much room there. And how well the smaller choppers were synchronized was really impressive!

Besides the choppers being totally blacked out, do you all think they were much quieter than standard issue versions of the same choppers? I couldn't really tell on my Tony phone speakers if the choppers were that loud or not.

Blackhawks seemed toned down for sure. They pass my house regularly and I know they are coming long before seen.

The MH-60M Black Hawks and MH-6M Little Birds used by SOAR have improved rotors, but supposedly for high-altitude performance. The "stealth" Black Hawks used in the Bin Laden raid most definitely have sound suppression built into their rotors, but not much is known about those top-secret Black Hawk variants.

They're essentially the same. With minor differences to different rotor blades, upgraded engines, probe, etc. You have to take into account the buildings to deflect the sound as a possible reason as well, along with different atmospheric conditions.

Unfortunately the stealth blackhawks were a one time deal. Too expensive and the aerodynamics didn't work with the airframe.

Makes sense. I know VERY little about them and couldn't tell with that video if they were the "stealth" versions.

Yeah for the 60's, in knowing that they're the 160th birds would be an all black paint scheme with the refueling probe. Could get confusing when you start talking about Air Force 60's since they all have the refueling probe and look identical except for paint. The army's is definitely a better variant though.
