More details not released yet but save your pennies. 500 available on the first run. I am really stoked that it is GM based not Ford.

14" of wheel travel? For what, 200k?
That’s my $ guess too. 😟 It shows links and coilovers in the rear and that’s huge over a deaver leaf pack and easily capable of more than 14. I’m interested in more details like; does it have a cage or cab/frame supports? What trans for the 700hp? Factory warranty on any of it? I can't even afford a new 1500 let alone a truck 4x the price but I bet they sell the first batch pretty easy. It's been tried before but not with Fox backing it.

Hard to find much info online about this "Super truck." 🤷

I think it's nice to see GM throw their hat in the ring with this offering, but I sure hope they don't price it out of the reach of most. If the price is approaching $200K, they are dreaming! For that kind of money, I'll take a brand new truck over to Kibbetech and end up with a better built and more capable truck for that kind of money.

I'd also swap out the Fox offerings for pure race series King Shocks. 💪

A carli pintop or dominator gets you 13in of travel. Save 100k by giving up an inch. lol

I assume Brenthel is making the arms etc. Their stuff is pretty stout from what Iv seen. chevy / gmc has very few options to lift trucks with correct geometry and components that actually improve life expectancy. I stopped buying chevy/gmc because I got tired of wasting tires, and every moving component in front end yearly.

The live valve is pretty legit, and king doesn’t have that option.

If it’s all good, I’d consider gm trucks again. But I’d likely buy the components myself and do.

Carli has the e-venture now. Isn’t that similar to the live valve?

Looked at a couple of TRX’S over the weekend, 125k and 130k. Nice but geez 140k+ out the door.

Fox recently bought Baja kits.

Look up the Jackal truck that is already being made.

It will be a 6.2 trail boss with the baja kits long travel set up, foxes and a supercharger. It will have fiberglass bedsides and bumpers. If gm is more involved perhaps it gets a lt4.

They work good but it will make a raptor r seem cheap. If I had the choice and you could get one for msrp I would do the Raptor R.

At least on the Raptor R it has been factory tested for use in the real world and is a factory production vehicle. These special edition, low volume trucks are sometimes just cribbed together much the same way the SEMA trucks are - yeah it looks really bitchen, but how does it ride in the real world and who's going to do the warranty work on it? For that much money it better have some sort of factory backing.

GM and pax power have been working together on stuff for a long while now. I think they have raced a couple versions of the truck in norra, etc...

I'm not sure I would be worried about the engine reliability or warranty aspect. With that said at 110K++ I would rather have a straight factory built truck like the Raptor R. Raptor R will have a great re sale going forward the Chevy will be a niche vehicle that most people have never heard of.

Gotta say since Fox has purchased Baja kits I haven't been all that impressed. My upper arm bushings are shot after 30K miles and I ordered replacements about a month ago and they haven't shipped yet. I keep getting the we are in transition and its taking time to sort out. I ordered stuff from Dirt king and got it in 3 days. Before the purchase by Fox it was like calling and dealing with friends they were great.

Again, if they use an LT4 and modified (for 4wd) 10 speed trans from the Camaro ZL1 the powertrain should be reliable, but will the suspension hold up on a daily usage basis. The GM trucks would have to be way up in the air also just to get decent sized tires under them due to GM putting round tires in square openings. On any lifted GM truck, look how much space there is between the top of the tire and the fender opening just to get the tires to clear the fender edges, it doesn't look proportional. I've always been a GM fan, but lately I'm not real wild on their recent designs - they're getting too blocky and the GMCs are going overboard like the BMWs with the huge grilles.

Raptor is produced by the Ford Motor Company. That’s a big part of what makes them cool.

This isn’t a GM product.
It’s an aftermarket conversion done by an upfitter.

Is it cool?
Sure.

But let’s not kid ourselves…anyone can build an aftermarket truck.

The silverados have round wheel wells. I clear 35's with just a front king coilover. (probably 2.5" of lift)

GMC have the rectangle wheel wells and they aren't as big tire friendly.

These trucks will use fiberglass bedsides front/rear that are more like the raptors and will easily clear 37"+ tires. I imagine they will use FiberwerX fenders. They are decent but still take alot of work. Nice thing about the raptor is they are factory and made in house so you know its dialed.

I think the Raptor is the best factory truck made the issue is I don't trust the ecoboost engine. If they would have thrown the 5.0 coyote in the truck thats what I would own vs building my 2020 silverado 6.2.

I really doubt the truck will get the LT4. It will have a whippled 6.2 with the 10 speed. It will rip but it wont TRX or Raptor R rip.

Everyone knows that Fox shocks win races. King has been left in the dust with the technology that Fox is pouring into the OEM's.

2023 Baja 1000 - 7 out of 10 top spots had Fox with a total of 13 pro class wins.

To be honest, I think the technology between all of the shock companies is pretty damn impressive. Majority of the differences are so slight, most folks probably wouldn't be able to "Feel" the difference between one of the other. With that being said, I will probably never run Fox shocks on anything I own, just because. I've been a King fanboi for 30+ years and don't plan on changing anytime soon. 👍

$210,000??? Does it take that much money to improve over the Raptor? I’m too poor to spend that much money and then take it to the desert and beat on it to actually see if it is that much better than the Raptor.

The price is crazy but looks like the truck has trailing arms?

First I have seen that on a new Chevy.

The Baja Kits Long Travel kit will work better than a new factory raptor. Its not a race truck but it will work really well offroad. Looks like a new D60 rear axle and ARB air Locker as well. (There is some $$$ in parts thrown at this thing)

Basically its a bad ass truck but if you can find a Raptor R at close to MSRP thats the truck to buy.

This release was missing one big thing I was expecting in addition to the purchase of the truck. Time will tell but maybe because of demand it wasn’t needed. they were originally set for 100 now already committed to 500 units minimum..
The Brenthel boys have some pretty big plans underway for a new Arrive and Drive and driver’s training school facility in Johnson Valley.

I think they've had that school for some time, but it may have only been reserved for those participating in the trophy truck racing program they offer. 👍

Not exactly. School yes, campus no. We co-own the 40 acre compound they operate on now for their arrive and drive program and customer training but the structure of ownership will change. They also purchased another 20 acres next to the 40 acres we own now.
I'm talking permits in process for BIG sq ft buildings with living spaces, race shop, classrooms etc.

Like usual, I’m impressed and stoked but not surprised to see them successful and growing.

Was talking with the brothers and Dempsey at the Parker 400, they were telling us about the FOX deal and there was some REALLLLLY BIG plans and some VERY COOL stuff in the works. Guessing this truck and the school were some of them, hahaha. Dempsey was trying to talk me into doing a drivers training day. End of the night I tell them "Im IN, take this as a little deposit" and hand him a $0.25 slot voucher... "Thats as good as money buddy". We have a good laugh and off we go to bed because we race the next AM. Fast forward a few months and Im out at Alltechs JV shock testing property "The Springs" testing my new MavR for The Mint and Dempsey pulls up with a truck to test also. We start bullshitting and I tell him before he leaves I wanna give him another deposit. He starts laughing and says "Thats where I know you, the $0.25 slot voucher... I knew we had met before, just couldn't place it". He starts laughing and tells me to jump in the truck for his warm up lap. We did a 20 +/- mile loop from "The Springs" around the mountain to Hammer Town, he points out the Brenthel compound and told me they just bought the lot next-door to expand and theres going to be a really cool facility.. Those guys have definitely worked their asses off and deserve all the best. Super cool guys. Here's a little clip from the warm up lap, those trucks are impressive, what a rush!!!

I’ll be glad to build anyone the same thing for $150k OTD….

Cool truck, should handle well and be fun… but $210k is wild. Sad to see that this is more confirmation that GM has no plans to develop a “Raptor” of their own. Huge market they are missing.

I’ve thought for years about selling/producing something similar(turnkey). Bolt on kit, deavers, and a dialed in shock set up would have ate up gen 1 and gen 2 raptors. I’ve never been in a position to dump $100k+ into a truck in the hopes that I could make money on it, nor fund the backend of the company and legality side of it.

The 700hp is where a ton of the money is going for these, and anyone thats driven a Raptor R or TRX in the dirt knows how useless all of that HP is. Sell it with a 6.2L for $100-130k and they’ll sell like hot cakes IMO.

Same, I gave Jonathan a $1 deposit toward my AWD TT “I have on order” 😆😆
Chuck is a great guy, I see him more at our place than the brothers. i’ve been trying to pry information out of those boys since our families went on a vacation together last summer. The NDA was too strong on this one.🤷🏼‍♂️ Personally I was expecting a day of arrive and drive or just driver training included with this truck purchase.

Yeah, they told us about the FOX deal because it just went public. My co drivers son was a welder in the TT shop and he said "Wow... thats awesome, Anthony didn't say anything about this...." they said they were bound by a gnarly NDA. Chucks a SUPER COOL guy, saw him at tech at The Mint and he walked with us for a while and asked if we got the car all dialed in. Bullshitted with him for about 30/40 minutes before he got a call and had to go. I will do the driver training deal with him one of these days.
