Stopped by Schiada to find the best location for the steering helm to be mounted. Using a mock up seat, the helm location was found and drilled. This was completed to start on the interior soon! That's #1 steering helm mounted! That's the first bit of info I've posted for this project (besides the trailer). That'll be the last bit of info I post until the whole project is complete.
Then after I left Schiada, I went over to Mr. Bob Patterson's shop. Bob was one of the FIRST to start inboard boat racing. Bob is 92 and still one of the most intelligent men I have ever met. This is a picture of Bob's P550 Crackerbox Steering design. Bob and a few other machinists have their hand in Fab'ing one of the most phenomenal steering setups that I have seen! Frickin work of art!
Bob's quote to me: "I am making a steering setup that even you can't brake!!!"
After temporarily mounting the steering and drooling, my uncle mounted the seats and I drilled for the steering helm in the cracker. That would be #2 steering helms mounted for the day! The steering setup still needs a bit more work, but she is almost complete!
