A bit disappointed... way too many flashbacks or what.....I swear we've seen this before

I agree RIP..cause the show is dead.Yeah, but.....
Rip
Man, I never even realized this about the character development and then poof, gone. Wild!I hated it, but for reasons most may not notice. It looks completely phoned in and cheap. Lighting, makeup, cinematography. The way the shots were set up, it looks B-Team. The story line was half baked, and I have a hard time believing Sheridan even participated in that episode.
The end seems completely predictable. Just get to it in a couple episodes, it is going to be painful waiting for 5 more at this rate. I'll wait and binge.
The thing that is becoming apparent to me is that Sheridan invests a lot of time in character building for no apparent reason. He invested a ton in the Summer character and she is just missing now? He did this a few times before on this show and others. They invested a shit ton in the Jimmy character for what seems like no reason. He did it with both the other Yellowstone spin offs as well. I've seen it with some of his other shows.
I'm glad he is turning his eye toward selling Texas, maybe everyone will move there. Just once I would like to see him show Montana when it is not July.
So this show isn't season 5 episode one. This was season 5 episode 9. "Desire is All you Need." Episode 8 came out in 2023. It seems like they had to throw this one together after Costner decided not to return. The episode got a bit better as it went along. But the first 20 minutes was just low quality.
I think Sheridan's shows are better than most. Lioness, Landman, Tulsa Kings. All enjoyable. Plot holes are plentiful but I can get past it.
Summer's in prison, and without John Dutton to get her out, we may never hear from her again.
Since it has been so long between episodes, the flashback were to bring us up to speed maybe?
Maybe he flew home in the company jet.One of the many things that caught my attention was how quickly Rip was able to drive up from Texas coming straight from the plains with the cattle, and arrive in a Dutton truck.
I believe he's planning a spinoff show called 6666 about that Ranch and Jimmy will be a main character. They invested a shit ton in the Jimmy character for what seems like no reason.
Yeah, she was on house arrest at the ranch. Now that John's gone, she may go back to jail. Not present in this episode, since it started at the end, but may be in others between "6 weeks ago" and the ending. The drive to TX with horses means a lot more stops and slower driving. Coming back in just the truck should be 1 day. 1200ish miles is easily doable.Summer's out? Good for her. LOL Takes days to drive to texas, but hours to drive home? yeah.
Yep. I made it 3-4 episodes and still wonder what the hype is.I lost interest Season 1 Episode 1.
I've never been a soap opera fan.
And he’s got another TX show coming out. I do love Billy Bob though…I was bored with all the TX shots and it seemed like they were just filler for Sheridan to promote TX, reining, and Four sixes. I don’t think that is what most people watch the show for. But I guess he doesn’t care at this point, and it shows.
First Horizon movie bombed. When we saw it at a theatre in Scottsdale, we were the only ones in the theatre.I read that Kevin didn't even know he was getting killed off until he saw it on TV. I figured he was just gonna be doing Governor shit for a few shows and make an occasional appearance. He says he was only in it for a couple seasons and it was taking too much of his time. He has made a new western trilogy that is out and that was his baby.
Great points in this thread…. I agree in IG strategy slow with the 4 6’s and Texas stuff. They probably needed filler time to write the end of the show.
I think Sheridan was stuck in a no win situation with Costner not coming back. How do you write the ending to the show when your leading character isn’t coming back and you haven’t really written it into the series?
OR! Beth is smarter than we realize and the opening scene is fake and a set up, the ex governor is in on it to ruin Jaimie and that gal that approved the hit is being set up as well!?!?
One can only hope Costner comes back for a few episodes to close it out and maybe he dies of cancer?
I was severely disappointed in the opening scene as John Dutton makes the series and really don’t believe anyone in the story is going to buy That’s how he dies.
I’ll watch the rest. I really liked the show, kind of a bummer it’s coming to an end because Costner and Sheridan couldn’t make it work. That’s show business I guess.
I’m not planning to invest time in any more of his shows. He gets too distracted with other projects, then leaves everyone (including the cast and crew) hanging for 18 months to two years. I like Billy Bob also, but he always plays the same character, kinda like Costner. And he’s got another TX show coming out. I do love Billy Bob though…
I think that trilogy went caput after the introduction, I know a few people that are pissed.I read that Kevin didn't even know he was getting killed off until he saw it on TV. I figured he was just gonna be doing Governor shit for a few shows and make an occasional appearance. He says he was only in it for a couple seasons and it was taking too much of his time. I was disappointed how season 1 of Lioness ended also. I'm not sure I am willing to invest in season two. Season 1 ending seemed rushed with unfinished business and not the cliffhanger type.Sheridan is really good writer for about 2 seasons, then it all kind of falls apart. But there are usually 2 really good seasons. Seems like he doesn't know how to finish a story, I'm still waiting for the 3rd instalment of Sicario for Pete's sake. And 1923? Really, that is how you are going to leave it... What a dickhead... LOL.
I'm part way through Lioness Season 2, been good so far. I'll binge this final instalment of Yellowstone.
I thought the story of why he didn't come back was that it was leaked by someone involved with the show that he was having an affair. So much bad blood between Costner and Sheridan, I don’t see that occurring.
Both have huge egos. Sheridan kept rewriting and pushing/delaying filming that Costner contract for filming days ended and he had other things to do. Costner has said he wanted to work it out, but…..
Who really knows. Costner wife had the affair.I thought the story of why he didn't come back was that it was leaked by someone involved with the show that he was having an affair.

Sheridan must have some hella bad ADHD.
Good show last night. I think it will end on a high note. Jaimie is fucked. Wasn’t expecting his lady to get assassinated at that time. After last night, IMHO it's getting a little better. Hopefully they're done jumping around.

Somehow, I just thought they were going to hang her out to dry and they'd totally disappear, caught me totally off guard the way it was done.Idk I thought it was pretty obvious when she called the number and no one answered, they were going to eliminate any loose ends.
I agree. I just meant at that moment after she left the house. I was waiting Jaimie to kill her at the house.Idk I thought it was pretty obvious when she called the number and no one answered, they were going to eliminate any loose ends.
