epic just posted a black on on insta?

If black, that was the TapOut boat.
Very few 26 ShadowDecks and 27 Shadows hit the market and they sell quick.
I have received 2 cash offers for my 26 deck, the last one was hard to say NO to, but I could not find what I wanted quick enough. Not going boatless during the summer when my trailer is at the Islander and the wife has not approved building a 26ShadowDeck with twin 300R’s yet :)

Nice but no way for a black boat for us and the wife hates the crawl through
The crawl through is way better than walk through and it is easy to go under. The walk through is an absolute wind tunnel!! I’m 6’3 235lbs. I had two 27 Shadows with crawl through and it’s easy. Plus there is more shade under there if needed.

What year's of the Ultra 27 Shadows are good - You hear so many stories due to the changing of hands over the year's and what power do these need to run decent? They seem to have a lot of freeboard and look heavy which was the reason I was wondering about power. This boat is back up for sale and has seemed to change hands quite often 🤔

27’s work well with a 525
Anything before Rusty took the molds should be OK (prior to 2012 ish).

Thank you Sir - What is the weight of the earlier 27's? What kind of speed would you see out of this

They will run about 80 with 525. They will not run a true mid 80’s with that package. They run well with the 525. That would be the lowest power I would go. I had the 2nd gen bottom (2005) with 525 and I had the 3rd gen (2007)bottom with a Teague 800. The earlier bottoms have a slight porpoise in the 70mph range. 3rd Gen bottom ZERO porpoise, but again the 2nd gen was very slight and not an issue really. The best thing on those and they work great is a set of fixed (turnbuckle style) tunnel tabs. I had them on my 2005 and the boat completely changed. Rolled over better, zero porpoise and packed way more air.

You are welcome. I’m not on here much anymore. Hopefully be building or buying another boat in a few more summers. I still check in every once in a while.

Horizon has my old 27 with the Teague 800 in it for sale. The guy that bought it from them sold it back to them. Unfortunately he decided to put snap buttons all over it for a snap cover and it looks like crap, but you could have those removed and the gel redone. It’s all in the white so it’s not bad. Also he added push pins for fenders which was not needed. I am tempted to buy it back and fix all that stuff the way it was. He also got rid of the billet top lids on the battery boxes. Hopefully he still has them. Overall from what I can see the boat was always well kept up. It has 346 hours on it. It’s crazy though what prices are now they want $129k for it but I’m sure you could negotiate. I will say that is the best 27 Shadow built hands down and many will say the same thing.

Yeah I do not get prices these days at all. I have alwayed love this Ultra and the wife has alwayed liked the Red White Blue scheme. Carpet, Interior, fill in the snaps and go through the motor and your ready for another 10 years.

I had the interior all redone in 2013 and had the custom hatch vents done. It’s crazy because they are asking more than what I sold to Horizon in 2017. I also had the whole engine gone through by Barrett and Teague in 2017. I actually sold it right after the rebuild and never drove it. That engine only has like 150 hours on it. The drive I also upgraded at 140 hours to the MMW Billet MX-1. I should have kept it!!! Haha If it was $100k or below I would be in Havasu this weekend buying it!

Oh man I don’t know. If I had it my way I would get ahold of the molds(may be able to at some point) and build another 27 Shadow. I feel it offers everything in a boat and I don’t want a desk boat. The 27’s have so much room, storage and just look so good and they do perform well set up right.
