Looking for my dad. He wants a mid 90’s to early 2000’s Hallett 270 closed bow, single motor. He want one that is really clean and turn key. Looking to spend in the $50k +/- range. Cash buyer. Show me what you got. Thanks.

Yes, it’s a nice boat, but he wants single motor.

Not my argument to make but I would argue the twin small blocks would be even better on the performance/efficiency/reliability/utility matrix. However owning an RDP boat may expose you to some unforseen skeletons LOL

BTW saw you going down the 23 on sunday I was in my wifes grey Jeep SRT. the 22 looks awesome!

Thanks buddy!! Was working hard to get that thing going. Maybe next year you guys could make it out!!

Too be honest, my dad was worried more about the skeletons than he was about the boat itself...LOL. J/K Dave!

The twin small blocks is way more efficient than a single engine. I had a 270T for 10 years and loved the boat. Same power as RD's boat, twin Scorpions.
My average fuel burn was 10 GPH (total for both engines). The boat was a dream to dock and manuver with the twins, that is the only way to go. My Daytona also has twin small blocks. I love them!

I have a extraordinary example of what the word "Clean" means available. 2000 270-S with a 500 EFI (281 hrs.) Not a mark on it inside or out on a Competition trailer. Teak floor is still golden, Cabin is white vinyl not dated looking Velour. I will get you photos tomorrow. $53,000.

The 270 is a better boat with twins. Personally if I were looking to buy one I would find a straight bottom early hallet/silverwing that was structurally sound with motors at the edge of their life span. Run it for a year or two and then drop in some lsa's.

The straight bottom with twins is the true holy Grail of that model.

The one maxed out has. 21k obo low hours. Agree with you on single vs twins. Single engine 27's don't run nearly as well as the twin setup. Straight bottom 27 was designed to be a twin small block setup.

Sorry I couldn't find anytime to take photos today at the shop. We have been swamped at work and to boot were experiencing major flooding, Multiple bad tornados and rain that just wont go away. The boat is inside my storage Bldg. next to my business and is with other wall to wall stored boats presently. I wont forget to get them to you. If you want a quick look a friend of mine posted a good pic of it on the River at the top of my FB page. Take a look! Dan LaBonte Gelpro Fiberglass
