I couldn't add a poll to DB's existing thread so let's try this.

My guess is if they come back with a verdict today or tomorrow it will be guilty, if it is after the weekend it will be hung.

The real question is how long will it take? What's the over/under? odds? someone needs to get a pot going. lol

I would convict him! But I'm afraid the average juror may need more convincing. Unfortunately the investigation by LEO was really dull. Maybe because of Murdaughs connections or maybe they are just dull down there. Would not be surprised to see him walk

Another one of my theories, SLED didn't do a good job securing the crime scene, nor did they want AM to be the one. If anyone said we think AM did it they would be killeried shortly or ... I think they did such a sloppy job on purpose they just weren't bad enough to keep him from being looked at.

Remember this family has more than 2 bodies on them...

Dinner plans made, probably there until 10 pm eastern this evening.

No deliberation over the weekend.

And how do we know they won't need the weekend to deliberate seeing as how they haven't reached a verdict?

Just as guilty as OJ.
But I have to admit. I haven’t seen one second of the trial.

They will reconvene Monday, no deliberating over the weekend. Rumor is the judge is a basketball fan and goes to the games in person.

Jury said they didn't need dinner they may have a verdict. Or they may not be hungry. They said no dinner and movement in the courtroom. No one knows why.

Edit:
Murdaugh family called back to the courthouse.

They are saying they have a verdict.

My guess no hung jury, either guilty or not guilty.

I think that all of his lies made him untrustworthy to the jury. How can they trust him when he betrayed even those who were closest to him? Then, the lie about being at the kennels that night and the video proving he was there is just too much. I really don't know how you could possibly think that he is honest about anything, including being a murderer.

I agree with the guilty verdict. I continue to believe he used 2 different weapons because he had hunting experience. He knew a 12 ga shotgun, with buckshot, would easily take out his first victim at short range. He expected the other person (son or wife) to run upon seeing the first victim killed. He knew he was in bad physical condition, over weight + drug abuse, and would not be able to run down the escaping victim/potential witness. But, with the .300 rifle he could take them down easily while standing and shooting from near his first victim. IMO, it was a cold, calculated double murder. Wonder if the defense had attempted to get the site of the trial moved? It’s possible the Murdaugh family was not very well thought of by many locals. Particularly after the boating death and also Alex Murdaugh stealing many thousands of dollars from various local people. Apparently the prosecution lawyers were not hunters, or they would have realized the probable reason for the 2 weapons,

I respect your opinion, however a shotgun can still be lethal at 300 yards. That's almost a quarter mile. I think it was what was convenient either left in the feed room or on the golf cart. I don't know if it was "planned" as in I am going down to the kennels to shoot them or if it was "when the opportunity arises I am going to take it." He told Maggie's sister that whoever did this has been thinking about it for a long time.

From people in the courtroom when the first verdict was read he turned to Buster and mouthed "I'm sorry, I love you, I love you" Who knows what he meant by that.

South Carolina doesn't screw around.
They have been screwing around for over 100 years that is why this case is so big. The family dynasty is falling... The great grand father Maurdaugh started the law firm in 1910 (I think, is what I remember)

I respectfully do not believe shotguns are lethal at 300 yards. Perhaps 30 and a little more, but not 300 yards. Even a 3” magnum, high base shell, properly chocked would not be lethal at 300 yards. I’m not sure it would even travel 300 yds. There are numerous, very experienced inmates here, who would know much more about this.

This test shows 9" penetration at 100 yds. Can we meet in the middle? lol 00 buck

I do not believe that I have ever heard of a jury returning a guilty verdict on a murder case, + many other charges, in such a short timeframe.

I’ve only one question - the defense stated in closing, ‘hair in the hand of Margaret Murdaugh.” What was up with that?

This is all I can find.
Griffin also revisited testimony from early on in the trial which revealed that Maggie was found dead with hair in her hand. He said that hair remains untested, in addition to the fact that DNA was only taken from Alex.
There is a Reddit thread I found. Asking about the hair and no one knew what had happen with it either.
I would say if SLED didn't think it was anything then it was probably nothing BUT we will probably never know unless it comes to light that someone in SLED is corrupt.

I looked for a better video but there are so many. I just picked a longer one.

It doesn't matter. The hair was evidence in the grand jury hearing, not the trial. It was not introduced into evidence by the prosecution or defense, so it legally could have no weight in the jury's deliberations. They couldn't consider it.

It was just another error in the defense's rambling closing argument. My video post above of Vincent LaGuardia Gambini wasn't meant as a joke, that was a pitiful effort. Of course they had nothing to offer, once it was admitted Murdaugh was at the murder scene four minutes before the victims' cell phones went silent, he was fucked.

I also believe a factor in the quick verdict was resentment by the jury toward the defendent. They're a collection of average people, Murdaugh was privileged and wealthy. I'm not saying they envied him.

But consider he made millions in legal fees over the same years he was stealing close to ten million dollars from those same average people, people that had been injured or killed. He killed his family members to hide his crimes, and thought he could outsmart law enforcement.

Those folks heard the evidence, and Murdaugh's actions were so reprehensible, there wasn't a single juror that was going to vote to acquit. They were disgusted, and I think they were angry.
