thanks steve now we r up to 8 boats total.... need rules before anyone is going to reserve rooms and order fuel... just saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rumor has it that someone is building a 600 inch psi deal to run with 17 and 77......
Mike, Glad to see you guys entering the Seebold. I have fresh Fairchild SST-120 for sale if you need a motor. It is legal for Division B.
Ditto!!! what entry form?I didn't realize the entry forms were out. If someone can direct me to them I would appreciate it. We are coming back again with a division 2 or B.

What's the advantage to carrying all your fuel for the entire race?
Nobody wanted to be pit crew. :rolleyes
We have limited tools, being an Outboard Team.
Yep...I am packed and ready to go!! 12 Days and counting!!
This will be memorable !
Thanks for having my along to help your team. , With my limited Skillz, I am not sure how I will help. LOL. Shall I bring my Multi-Tool?
Did someone say fuel tanks?... flag to flag.
Did someone say fuel tanks?... flag to flag.
Now we will have a REAL race !!!
We think 336 in 3:36 .... !!! 94 mph avg speed will be needed to pull it off.
Do the math, we both are there ... You might need a large nitrous bottle mounted in the floor!
Nice, sano set up !!
I have not been to the race but would like to some day, my question is this to those who've been in it:
Since some that are able are going to try to make the full 336 without refueling, does the time to refuel take more than the allotted 10 minutes at the mandatory stops?
How much time is gained with the larger capacity tanks?
Thx , and good luck to all!
Yes. Two stops are mandatory. If you don't make the required two stops, I am 99% sure the Referee will disqualify the boat and driver from the race.
I don't see why someone couldn't run the whole race, then second to last lap, make a pit. Then make a pit on the last lap.. Not sure what advantage there would be to that other then to possibly say "We led the race the whole time"
Better than following like sheep...
Scarlata might idle in a circle next to the dam for a half hour waiting for second place to show. Who knows what's going to happen. It will be exciting to watch, I guarantee that.
Two pit stops are mandatory during the race.. This is done because this isn't the wild west anymore, bolts come loose, things break, props crack. We don't want anybody getting hurt, or possibly hurting someone else. Last year I saw an outboard make an entire lap, and it looked like his transom bracket was ready to fall off. Obviously this fixed it when he came into the pits.
I'm not sure what determines when the pit stops have to be made.. I don't see why someone couldn't run the whole race, then second to last lap, make a pit. Then make a pit on the last lap.. Not sure what advantage there would be to that other then to possibly say "We led the race the whole time" ultimately it all balances out in the end.
If not pit stops are made, then the boat would get black flagged.. If for some reason the intent becomes clear that no pit stops are going to be made, then the race would get red flagged, stopped and restarted, while the boat exited the course. If the driver is an APBA member, they could face a possible suspension from racing for up to a year. (something to think about)

I understand the "whys" of the mandatory stops.. Back to the original question; Is there an advantage time wise to "not refuel"?
Okay guys here is what is expected of each team. It is expected that you read the general rules and safety section in there entirety. familiarizing your self with just the division rules that you intend to run in is only part of the whole package.
Secondly, it has come to my attention a couple of teams are being creative in the interpretation of the division rules. Please do not assume that you can do something with out asking for clarification first. I am very busy and hard to reach at times however, from now until the end of this event I am available to answer any question you may have. I can be reached at 951-403-7775 and would rather sort through any issues before race day. If I don't answer I will call back.
Third, page six of the rules clearly states that two pit stops are mandatory. There are many reasons for this and I will be happy to explain them to all participants at the drivers meeting. There is no exception to this rule.
Lastly, If you are planning on running this race get your entry in. I know that there are more of you running then what I have entry's for. The cut off date to receive them by mail is October 20,2014 as I will be leaving for Parker on the next day.
Thanks Scott
NOPE...your required to stop anyway, the only reason could be, they fear loosing time in the pit area after their 10 min. time has started with traffic etc. Why would you carry that much extra weight "368 lbs" for the first half the race. Its all HYPE. imhoI understand the "whys" of the mandatory stops.. Back to the original question; Is there an advantage time wise to "not refuel"?
See what happens when you leave us to our own devices? :rolleyes
BTW: You never answered my calls or email, just sayin'.
I know I am a dick bag and hard to get a hold of at times. I am at your beck in call from know until the Sunday after the race.
