I have a 2003 f150 with the 5.4 and noticed it's leaking coolant down on pass. Side near starter. I couldn't get a great look without taking the exhaust off. What are the chances it a head gasket? No coolant in the oil but...

Look over by the #4 spark plug hole. There’s a hose that runs right there that leaks often.

Tritons have been voted worse engine ever ...maybe it’s just a hose

Check your heater core hoses near firewall. Usually they leak and they’re just little plastic clip connectors.

I'm guessing it's a cracked intake manifold

Not sure if it'll narrow it down but it leaks bad and even when it's shut off. I'm guessing from pressure.

I’ve replace a lot of those intake manifolds. Usually the right side(passenger).

Just got off the phone with a buddy and he mentioned intake. He's gonna come by Friday to help me narrow it down.

I've got 206K miles on 2000 5.4 Expy. Still runs great. At 150K it needed a head gasket so I had the valves done. I was getting blow by in the coolant.

Trying to finally replace it with a new RAM but boy they are pricey and inventory seems to be going down.

So I pulled the manifold and I think I found the problem. Gonna buy new one. Those that had new ones replaced , were they replaced with after market manifolds od oem ford. ?

I've had the pipe leak that goes under the intake manifold too, might wanna look at that while you're there.

The valley was full of coolant . Seamed like as it was filling up it was leaking down the low spot of the block in the back which was on passenger side. I will check everything I can thanks for the info.

I’d go OEM.

We put 135k on our '99 Expedition. Great truck! Only a couple of issues. One was a manufacturing nick in the right head causing an oil leak at about 75k. Ford paid most of that fix. Another issue was water got past the windshield and onto the fuse block, engaging low range uncommanded. Left us stuck in Salt Lake City for a couple of extra days of skiing.
