Who is the go-to for gel-coat redo?

I found my old CP and she's coming home. Needs a total restoration...gel coat, interior, engine, trailer rehab...the works. I'm going to start with the gelcoat. Who's the go to?

Should I do some metal flake on the bow/gunnels?

Kornowski does incredible work, but likely has a pretty long waiting list. He has done plenty of boats that have ended up on RDP, but I don't know if he's an active participant on the forum boards.

There are numerous other shops that do quality work too. Where are you located and where would you like to have the work completed? LHC, LA, IE, San D Eggo??

I would give WOT marine a call. Kyle and Cole now have full gel coat capabilities at the shop, and are doing restoration projects just like you are wanting to do all the time. Plus they are local to You. They may even have a motor, or can find you one as I saw your other thread. Good luck. Congrats on getting the boat back.

This. The gel guys working from Kyle, where the guys that could not move to PHX when DCB moved.
They did the entire underside of my boat last year. Hull is straighter than when it popped.

Kevin is top notch for sure. I'm taking the boat to him to do the transom repairs. If he has time to do the entire restoration, more the better!

I would say an easy 10k imo.

I talked to everyone mentioned when we were considering restoring a 21 Schiada. I really liked Kevin from KMG

The numbers started to get really crazy so i jumped ship before i had 100k into a 50k boat.

10 years ago i was getting quotes for 20k + but that included front/rear cap and gelled engine compartment.

Mine was done by a guy that works for and builds hulls for Adrenaline as well as Ultra. His shop is at his home, large metal building. Adrenaline is a couple miles away. A lot of people don't wanna do a project with someone who does the work on the side. I probably paid 30% less for the work I had done and craftsmanship was/is excellent. I have sent several people to this guy and everyone has been extremely satisfied. Bob 760 964-5896 if you want his info

Not a full service shop but OC Boat Repair has done a couple of substantial gel / structural repairs for me in past and turned out great.

All great recommendations on here! You can’t go wrong with any but you will find wildly different prices between shops..

Personally Saleen in Havasu does all my gel work.
