I’ve been doing tax planning and projections all month. PTE payments, year end bonuses to pay taxes, zero out C-Corp income, and retirement contributions. It has been a busy and stressful month.

I would rather my clients know now what they will owe than surprise them in April. That’s the worst.

To let you know you had a good year and you should expect to pay x amount by April 15. 🤦‍♂️😳

Not including PTET and safe harbor payments.

I need to tell them to call after Christmas next year. Ha ha ha.
Got that call 2 weeks ago...prepaying like crazy ever since. Cash basis sometimes sucks

For me it's just regular taxes. I fucking hate the alternative tax. Do my normal 1040, I'm sposed to get 1000 back. Then alternative tax, I owe a 1000

Obviously, getting that call means that you had a good year income wise. For me, with all of the negative shit going on in the world, I find myself stock piling it for when/if shit hits the fan. Then, the CPA call comes and you see your big number shrink instantly. It's a kick in the nuts....hahaha

I’ve never liked paying taxes, of course. But, is it really a surprise when you get that call?
The way taxes have been the last few years, yes it’s a surprise for the most part, but you have an idea, but it always supersedes that thought. Our biggest hit has
been the R&D credit. Under Trump and first year of Biden you could write it all off that same year, the last 3-4 years you have to pay in for 5 to be able to take full advantage. Same with sec 179.

LLC taxes are all good and paid with carry over. It’s the personal tax with the LLC as I’m on a owners draw vs salary.
