The biggest drawback to me is the charger availability and length to charge. For work I drive 250+ miles in a day with multiple stops. All of our grocery stores have 2 EV chargers at them and the same exact people are always plugged into them sleeping or watching a movie. My Diesel BMW gets 44.2 mpg driving 80 mph across hwy 40 and gives me a 600 mile range. I did a turn around trip yesterday to Pasadena on 1 tank of fuel. Also thanks @THE WIDGE for meeting me at Living Spaces to sell me some Livorsi Guages. Totally looked like a drug deal going down.

My son spotted a couple driving around and some covered at the Tesla dealership off the 210 in Rialto area last Friday.

All chargers have a 5 - 10 minute grace period to unplug and move or a fee kicks in, with the exception Tesla. If other chargers are available the fee on Tesla chargers won't kick in.

We use Electrify America because its free charging. Damfino why but EA puts 1000 free hours on the wifes app and when she burns through that another 1000 free hours suddenly loads.

Range anxiety doesn't occur to us, broke chargers at the next stop does. 40% to 60% chance are the honest stats like I've often mentioned here.

So if the app indicates chargers at the next stop are down and almost half the time they are, we call the EA customer service and usually a reset will get them working.
Usually, not always.

Old reliable is EVGO. Beat to shit chargers but the fuckers always work. Download the app and save the plug-in fee usually $1 to $3/$5 bucks on top of the charging cost.

Free charging at Spanky's in Parker:

We've cut back EV driving to hold trade-in value on the EV6. EV6's are holding their value.
Car Max quoted wifie a good price dealer said bring in the quote they'll raise it $500.
All the features on the GMC Denali EV truck we didn't want are now options delete for lower cost,,,, goes the tale.

I'm hearing the dealership chargers may only be for the dealer to use on dealer stock. No owner access. That may change but that's what owners are saying the Tesla forums .
Nissan dealers around here have level 2 and available to any EV. Hold that thought.

I saw one yesterday on the road driving up our hill.
Man. It is even fuglier in person. But I guess to each their own.
I guess that’s why there are different colors. Beers. Etc. Different strokes for different folks.

It's a segment all it's own I guess.

Tesla Cybertrucks Are Rusting Despite Being Made Of Stainless Steel.

Guess will need to wash with steel wool.

With stainless the machine tools leave a non stainless metal residue pressed into the surface that will rust. Enormous pressures to work with stainless so it gets embedded pretty good but can be worked with.

Sharp edges too:

I saw one on the road for the first time a couple days ago. I thought it was ugly and ridiculous looking (no offense to any inmates that bought one). Sitting across the intersection from it, the windshield looked silver or gray, and I couldn't see inside it.

My buddy bought one and brought it by the other day. First thought when I saw it was “Son of a bitch that is ugly!”. Then we took it for a spin and holy shit is that thing quick! Drives really nice and smooth, the deceleration when you are off the throttle is cool. The bed is fairly big and the interior was comfortable(the short time I was in it). I was surprised how big the thing is, seemed as long as a Suburban? Anyway, he’s a big Tesla fanboy and uses the shit out of it going mountain biking and hauling 3 dogs around.

Think that’s the first picture I’ve seen inside one.

Steering wheel was a bit goofy, felt really odd in that big thing. And the fucking windshield wiper is about 4 foot long.

They sanded the metal to removed the residual, then coated them.
Some are having that done with the Cybertrucks.
I also hear of a chemical wash that removes the specs of rusting material and other methods.

Electric fly-by-wire steering is getting good reviews. Also the wiper is getting likes too.

Strong rumor from the nerds in the know involved is that TESLA is holding back performance and an eventual software flash will unleash it.

The Orwellian dashboards are really plain looking. All the controls on the dash tablet.
Several niche' companies are hitting the scene with after market conventional Dash Boards for Teslas. This is a simple feature / simple to install, but others with way more features and style have made appearances as well:

M Benz had a really nice seat position control but moved it up to the dash screen.
Wife rented one, a new $140.000 model and it was a miserable, under-powered rattling buzz box as well.
EVs spoil ya with quiet and power.

Saw this at my daughter’s softball game the other day. Interesting choice of color. Probably an influencer.

It’s def a “LOOK AT ME I HAVE A CYBERTRUCK!!!!” attempt for attention. Then again what can I say I drive a bright red dually with spikes. I still have my cybertruck ordered. I’m on the fence if I’ll actually follow through with the purchase. I’d def like to give it a try, it’s the “you cannot sell it…” clause that has me saying no…

How’s that work? If you sell they won’t sell you another unit?

This is in the purchase agreement. They don’t want people buying and selling em.

The fact that this thread exists tells you that Tesla / Elon have designed it properly.

Cybertuck has everyone talking about it just by driving by. Pretty cool to charge that much for car and then have the public do all your marketing for you.

Genius !

We're talking about the fact that it rusts and raccoons mistake it for a dumpster because it looks like a dumpster🤣

I would have taken delivery if it was 40k cheaper like they said it would be, and the range would be over 500 miles. I think Tesla really missed the mark on the Cybertruck.
