Going back to my roots and getting a lowered 90's 2-door Tahoe. It's been a while since I've had a lowered car/truck. Wheres the best place to get the goods for it? From interior to exterior. Billet stuff/Carbon fiber/ etc.

I'm not talking about the pep boys curb feelers (I know where to get those;))

LMC Truck has lots of good resto parts. Lots of hard to find stuff. Ebay is good for a used parts source. Craigslist can be good too.

Awesome! I'll check them out. You know if they have the billet stuff for the interior (airbox cover, vents, etc) also the dash kits (either brushed metal or carbon fiber)?

Also, while were on the subject...what about engine dress up kits? Billet pulleys, battery boxes, stuff to make the engine compartment of this old truck look like the engine compartment of a performance boat!

Common man, that billet shit is so 90's!

Besides, you need a lifted Tahoe so you can launch your boat properly like this: :D:thumbsup

Neeper n8's my favorite rim:thumbsup I still have a set piled in the corner of my garage. I think I spent more money replacing center caps then I did on the rims:grumble:

haha, yea those caps SUCKED!! After loosing a few caps I took metal caps and cut them so the lug nuts would hold them on. Worked good after that. Loved those rims, I bought them when they were first released, I was in my early 20's and financed them. Probably paid four times the actual cost after all the financing charges and high interest.

Loved that truck. Sold it to built the Suburban on the last page.

I still have my dually its a 97 I only use it to tow to the river and pull my toy hauler in the winter. Its got 120k on it now. I keep thinking I want to sell it but I have had it so long and its been maintained well, I think it will last me another few years:thumbsup I switched the rims to a set of ultras similar to the neepers but not as cool. Maybe I will make me some center caps and put the neepers back on!! Nice suburban :thumbsup

Dont sell it! :D And buy some of those metal center caps, measure them and cut them so the lip fits behind the lug nuts. Works perfect.

Thanks for the compliment.

I think I may do that. It needs new shoes anyway, so I will have to find me some metal caps to customize. Although I did have problems getting tires mounted with them, the machine hits the rim because of the offset. The first time it happened the tire shop offered to pay to have the wheel fixed and re chromed, it ended up being the same price to have all 4 blasted and polished, so I have a set of full polished neepers :thumbsup I don't know if they made them that way or not?? But mine started out as chrome plated aluminum. Did you have problems having yours mounted?

That's a trip. Not that I remember. I had some LOW profile tires on there too. I remember they didn't want to mount the tires because they were tech. Car tires not truck tires. Never had a problem getting them mounted though.

Mine is a 4 wheel drive so I have some big BFG's on it. But the problem was the metal bar that holds the duckbill on some machines could hit the rim at the highest point as it pulled the tire off. Happened 3 times to me. Maybe I need a better tire shop:D

Love the 502 in the dually, that is what I want to put in this, I looked at doing a Dmax conversion but the best guy to do it in Texas is busy and cant do the swap...plus the $15k to do it is a little much for just an ego ride................:D

The Tahoe I want is pretty rare I'm finding....2 door 2WD. Not a 4WD or converted 4WD. Also want 96 and up for the newer dash layout. I found a nice one in Florida thats already dropped, rims, super clean. 1500 to have it shipped back to Cali. I have a buddy out there that will buy it and store it til I ship it. Soon as someone buys my 04 GMC Duramax Dually (got a few very interested), The ride in Fl. is mine!:D

Oh I know, I want one too. The reason they are so hard to find is because the 2 door 2 wheel drives where special order only. They only released that truck as a 4x4.
