Going to spend four days at pirates cove for fathers day weekend 6/14-618 and then take the rest of the week to explore/vaca. Do you guys have any suggestions on where to go? We will probably get up early and head for Sedona Tuesday morning but after that we dont have any plans on where to go or what to see. Would like to be back home Saturday evening so we cant go to far.

If you're heading to Sedona you can stop at Bearizona in Williams
Or head north from there to the Grand Canyon

Did both of those a couple years ago. Looking for something new to see. Thanks though.

Jerome is a cool place to check out.
Former mining town on a cliffside with ties to W. Churchill .
If you have a Az state park pass you can get in some of the places for no extra cash.
SlideRock is fun in Sedona as well, also an Az state park.

Skywalk glass bridge over grand canyon west. Hop on the 40 and head towards Kingman. I think its 2 hours from Pirates. Drove it several years ago. Part of it was dirt road at the time. Its probably all paved now.

do you like just road tripping just driving to see the sights? if so take 89 south to Drake and take Perkinsville road east and south to Jerome.

here are a few pictures from the drive. 1st is a flagstone mine we found, then a sort of dry creek and then from near Jerome you can see the road we came in from.

Powell is epic but it’s a long drag still.

A closer option you could do is launch at willow beach below Hoover dam and go up to the base of the dam and cruise back. Explore Boy Scout Canyon and Arizona Hot Springs. It’s beautiful up there. Water is cold as shit but it’s a good day trip and different scenery than havi/pirates area. Mid week you will have the river to yourself.

Before we got our river place, we would spend a 3 day weekend launching out of Willow every year.

Great idea, beautiful place.

If you need a place to store boat on your way East, no cover but my property is all gated big dogs and cameras your welcome to stash here, best if you have a cover. I’m 11 miles North of the Needles bridge in Ft. Mohave.
However while heading east be hungry, then stop in Seligman, eat at West Side Lilo’s. I suggest the chicken fried steak but everything is amazing. Then for desert order a piece of Carrot Cake for the family, and yes “a piece” for the whole family is all you’ll need!

Thanks for the offer that is very generous. I have a buddy in Havasu that is letting me leave the whole train at his house.
If we head that way I will definitely check it out.

If you make it to Palm Springs area there is a pretty fun Jeep tour that takes you along the San Andreas fault line. You go to an oasis, and they have replicated an Indian village. It is all back behind a gated and fenced area. Quite interesting if you have the right driver
