Packing to move at the end of the month and I came across my stash of lower unit oil from the past few years, a couple 5 gallon buckets full. Who takes waste oil in Havasu? Back in Anaheim I would always take it to Pep Boys, they had a free disposal tank.

Yep. Local auto parts, 5 gal at a time. Once you know where the tank is, just walk back there like you own the place. I use a dedicated 5 gallon gas can, because you can't throw away any container "in" the store.

I used to dump it in my horseshoe pits, no dust and no rust!😅 Now I bring my local mechanic a wheeler of coors light and he takes care of it for me.

My old boss would drain the oil in his K boat into the bilge, pull the drain plug in the transom and drive home.

I don’t know if they still do anymore but the trash man used to take used oil here in LHC. You would just have to tape the lids on the bottles for whatever reason.
Not sure if they still do or don’t?

He also taught me to go to the quarter car wash, put soapy water in the bilge then drain the oil. The oil would float on the water and you could suck up the oil with she vacuum. Wouldn't want to be the guy emptying the vacuum.

They don't. I recently called them about hazardous waste and Havasu has nothing with them now.

Trash guys in Havasu used to be awesome, I would leave a 18 pack outside with the trash a few times a year with a thanks note, once done those guys would have taken a dead body away for me. Now that they have switched to the cans and sorting things out they have become dicks. They check our recyclables each time, if there is anything in there they dont like they leave it and leave a not so nice note.

Assuming you have a newer 6.7 with 2 filters off the top of my head OE filters are about $80 each then labor for fuel filters and oil change probably in the neighborhood of $425 give or take a few $$
