When I was rebuilding the lawn mower engine and went into the house bathroom to get a Q-tip to help clean a part. Thought while I was in there I'd take a shit. Wait, did I already tell this story? I'm glad it's Friday.

...LOL... this really hits home...every time I start to type a response or a story...I think to myself...I’m pretty sure I’ve already posted this and maybe more than once...which may or may not be true???...I guess all I can hope for is that I get the writings at least 90% correct each time around..:but who knows...certainly not me???...

I feel older when I detail my boat and do not touch the trailer.

I played a ton of sports (basketball, tennis, football and soccer) growing up and into college (basketball). The wear and tear on my ankles, knees and elbow caught up around the age of 30. While that makes me feel old, it really did not kick in until later in life when I would walk into a room to get something and totally forget WTF I was going after.

Thanks, it's good to be home. Unfortunately, I have been using opioids for 42 of my 61 years, since the first traumatic deconstruction of one of my knees. It didn't get ridiculous until 2008 when I had my first knee replacement.

Fourteen months later it had to be replaced again, and the other knee was done in 2011. Both turned into restricted motion constant chronic pain generators. It's because of the nerve damage done by twenty some surgeries since 1974.

Before arthroscopy and joint replacement, the solution to knees like mine was to keep opening them up and grinding away degenerative arthritic growth. Now they're permanently fucked up.

The hip replacement done last week was virgin territory, so I'm hoping it'll heal and be relatively pain free.

But to get around and be active enough to ward off more arthritic degeneration in my remaining joints and spine, I gotta take drugs. The amount I ingest every day would probably cause respiratory arrest in most people.

I quit drinking in 1990 if that counts for anything. :D

Two things I was counting on happening when I quit drinking never changed a bit and I'm still bitter about it.

I thought for sure I'd lose twenty pounds and that my bowling average would improve significantly.

Neither one happened. Dammit.

Been dealing with a jacked up back for over a year now. Pretty sure I'm starting to realize that I'm old :(

On the other hand, I'll never be as old as some of you geezers, so that makes me feel much better :D

Damn Dood, You are old. JK lol How'd your Hip Rep go? My 75 yo Dad had his Hip Rep Surgery Tue 7/31. I brought him home Thursday evening. He wanted to eat at Mex Rest on way home, unfortunately his walker was at home. He's kinda of alot of Stubborn, said he'll walk in If I help balance him. It was about 40' walk with half dozen stairs. Took us over 30 mins and a dozen standing breaks but he made it in himself. After dinner I offered to get him a wheelchair. He was all for it on way out.
It's now been a week since surgery. The hardest thing for him is rolling out of bed in AM and he has NO appetite. he seems to be moving around pretty good Yesterday he walked 150' RT into Dr office. got any good advice??

When I wake up the next morning feeling beat down with a sore back and knees after spending all day detailing my car and feel worse from that than being hung over.
Yep!
When basic life tasks make you feel beat down the next day.....you're getting old
