Seems this guy ony had to work 25 years :champagne:

From The London Times: A Well-Planned Retirement

Outside England 's Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 buses. For 25 years, its parking fees were managed by a very pleasant attendant. The fees were £1 for cars ($1.40), £5 for busses (about $7). Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing a day of work, he just didn't show up; so the Zoo management called the City Council and asked it to send them another parking agent. The Council did some research and replied that the parking lot was the Zoo's own responsibility. The Zoo advised the Council that the attendant was a City employee. The City Council responded that the lot attendant had never been on the City payroll. Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain (or some such scenario), is a man who'd apparently had a ticket machine installed completely on his own; and then had simply begun to show up every day, commencing to collect and keep the parking fees, estimated at about $560 per day -- for 25 years. Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over $7 million dollars! And no one even knows his name

Rentals. So far I have a
Triplex, currently brings in $2650
Duplex, currently brings in $2000
House, currenty brings in $1500
All will be paid off in about 15 years.
Rents will keep pace with inflation.
Always looking for more deals too....

We also have a paid off vacant lot which will get a new duplex pretty soon.

Add to a decent stock portfolio which I hope will come back and return to growth sometime!

I figure SS will be for gas money.... :D

Are you man enough to get off your lazy American ass and go to Vu’s seminars?"[1]
"A lot of your friends will tell you, 'Don't come to the seminar. It's a get-rich-quick plan.' Well, tell them, it is a get-rich-quick plan because life is too short to get rich slow."
"Tom Vu says his system is different than other experts'."
"Okay. You've seen me make a lot of money. You've seen my students who are average people make a lot of money. Isn't it about time for you to go out and make a lot of money?"
"I will not tolerate other immigrants."
"There's two kinds of work in America: hard work and smart work. Which one are you doing now?"
"This is not a country club! This is my house!"
"Are you afraid to ask your Boss for the day off to come to my seminar? Well then you don't deserve to be rich"
"Today I'm gonna show you how to drive a sports car. First, you need a lot of money!"
"Don't listen to your friends. They're losers!"
"Do you think these girls like me? NO, they like my money!"
"At first I got lots of discouragement from friends and stranger who are loser! You know what these people kept telling me? They kept saying, 'Well Tom Vu, you a crazy nut, here you are, a poor immigrant, poor minority, speak no English, no contact, on and on, and you trying to be rich in America! You crazy, man! Look at people out there! They smarter than you are, they not even rich! Who are you to try?' And you know what? I have to keep telling these people every time, I kept saying, 'You are loser! Get out of my way! I make it somehow!'

I remember those TV ads. Couldn't help but watch them.

Formerly of Longwood, Florida and later, California resident, Tom Vu has retired from real estate and lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He does continue his parallel career as a tournament poker player:

As of 2008, he has won more than $1,300,000 in casino poker tournaments, including a second place finish in a no limit Texas hold 'em event at the 2007 World Series of Poker and a 22nd place finish at the 2005 World Series of Poker championship event.

His 4 cashes at the WSOP account for $678,633 of his lifetime tournament winnings.

In April 2006, he finished ninth in the Season Five World Poker Tour championship event (I think at Binions in Louisiana), earning $216,585.

I don't have one, haven't gotten that far in life yet.

I have been thinking about this for about four years now, I have concluded that I need to stay at the river for a bit longer and think about it some more. :D

I'm working on the early retirement plan...Powerball twice a week.

Regular retirement is coming together...I'll be working way past 65 with most of the rest of us, as I'm not a quiter, and these toys are expensive.
