Heading back to needles this afternoon from Laughlin ranch and looks like something near pirates or topock?

Got to Needles this morning around 8 for breakfast. It was burning then. Heading towards LHC about 10:30 could see what you saw.
Looked like a controlled burn.
Got to Havasu and could hardly see the lake from all the smoke.
Still clear in Parker.
Here’s the reason I stopped in Needles.
Almost time to start rigging her!

I’ve heard that they’re burning brush in the refuge to try to drive the feral pigs out and burn up their food supply? Don’t know if this is true or not but it seems like there could be a better way. Where are all the environmental Nazis, protesting burning pigs out of their homes? Or maybe they thought it was burning police officers out of their homes, and therefore OK by their standards. who’s paying for the carbon credits? Air quality in Havasu sucks right now.

When I was a growing up in Norwalk my next door neighbor Mac Christensen drove the Hondo Shock Wave boat, used to clean it and then would go across the street and make some extra money cleaning parts for Ed "Bo" Wedge. Mac got killed in the Shock Wave up in Oakland I think about 73

Very cool!
This is the boat that was built right after Christensen was killed.
Gary Gabelich (many may not know the name. Amazing guy) drove it for a year and then this boat was replaced by Aftershock as the Hondo Factory Blown Fuel Hydro.
I’ll probably do a thread on the restoration.
