I would stay away from scissor style jack's in general. I had one fold on me in the garage (thank God I was just jacking up the razor and not something much heavier) and it is not fun trying to get out of the way and praying that it doesn't fall into something else. After that incident I went with good old 4x4 chocks (2) and a 4 or 6 ton (I don't remember which) bottle style jack. Much more stable and I only jack up 1 tire at a time. I also carry a collapsible shovel. Jack it up enough to get flat off or repaired and then shovel out enough to put new tire back on if on dirt. NO problems if on asphalt or concrete as long a you chock one or more tires from rolling with a rock or something else heavy. (even changed a new canam's tire on asphalt after his scissor jack failed.) Oh and yes the bottle jack is a cheap Harbor Freight one!

RD has the best set up = Floor Jack

I'm surprised at the cost of some of them. Pretty steep. But I don't want to f anything up including myself. Or struggle to change a simple flat
Good ones are $400 plus

I have the tusk scissor jack and I store it in my bag, in the trunk of my rzr. I’ve used it twice on other people’s rides and it works perfect both times.

Bottle jacks work ok too, I went from a bottle jack to this and I like the scissor better.

As mentioned a floor jack is the easiest but they are big and heavy.

You might be able to provide some usage tips for me on the scissor, when we were trying to use ours we couldn't make it stay put while we were winding it. We would have to do one turn, readjust it, another turn, readjust, another turn etc etc. So we said F it and got a big group to just lift

Trick is go slow and don’t use the handle that came with it, use a screwdriver lol

I use a bottle jack and make weld up a riser to slip over the top, I screw the adjuster out / up and slip riser on the screw part. Works good and they are compact but they are heavy....

I just got a tensor DS 32,10,15 spare tire and wheel, it should show up tomorrow !!!!

Now I just need a mount until I build my roof rack on the can am.

Didn't think about the screwdriver trick. Honestly we have decided that going forward, if we have a big enough group to pull it off, we will default to the lifting program, it was super easy.

This is what I bought for our rhino. I'll post up pics later on how I'm gonna mount it.
I almost went full retard and bought a Pro Eagle but this seems to do the trick.

I like the idea that barkers did on RD's ranger, a spot built in where a trailer receiver goes for a small floor jack. I have seen some can am guys flip the whole car upside down to change a tire (?) at least that's the story they stuck too.

For me, I added a spare wheel and tire and haven't needed a tire jack ever since. A good set of tires helps too.

My cage came with this extension from the factory and neither me nor the previous owner knew what it was for. It does hold a soft shell cooler pretty well but it's good to know the jack fits in there like a glove. Gonna drill a couple of holes, add a couple nutserts, and bolt it down with a couple HD thumb screws. Reason I like this thing so far is the reach. The bottom of the rhino is a solid 2 feet off the floor and this jack seems to work perfectly for those that have a ton of travel at full droop.

I use a scissor jack. I have an aluminium one from my RX7. It works great. The TUSK one looks nice, but you can also get one cheap from salvaged cars or trucks.

Scissor jack tips -

1. Lightly lube the screw
2. Wind it up to close to the height you need it out from under the car. You can lay it on its side, or hold it between your feet vertically and crank it up. Then slide it under the arm you are trying to lift when it barely fits.
3. Cut 1 or 2 2X4s to 12" - 18" in length and keep them in your box. They have many uses in a pinch. They make a very sturdy and level platform for a scissor or bottle jack so it does not sink in the dirt on you.

Some scissor jacks have a nut on them, you can use an impact or ratchet to crank them up.

I'm carrying an old Volkswagen bug jack. I carried a scissor jack, but when I got my first flat I couldn't use it because the tire bowed out about 14 inches wide at the bottom flat spot and the jack wouldn't fit it where it needed to go.
Worked great in my driveway with full tires though...:D

Just steal the jack from your wife's suv. You know she won't use it anytime soon! :D

You can take a strap, tie it to your cage, tie it to another sxs, and pull one side up in the air. It’s super easy.

Strap works great unless you are on a narrow trail :)

My dad has one of these https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/726/46210/Tusk-UTV-Scissor-Jack-Kit

To be honest, it was a PITA when we needed to use it. We actually just broke the bolts loose, got enough people to lift it, tire off tire on, then tighten back down.
We did something real similar to this years ago. Welded little tabs on the back of the lower a arms then a tube on the top of the scissor lift as well a 17mm nut same as the lug nuts were then you just slipped it onto tab on a arm hit with cordless impact and you were in business.

You guys must drink more then us, I have done it probably 20 times over the years and have never put one on its side.:D:D

You’d have to really try to pull one over on accident. [emoji849]
