SXS that Is legally able to be driven on-road, I'm assuming each state would be a little different with a few modifications that need to be met. lights, mirrors, front windshield etc...to make it street-legal and drive them on public roads
AZ

Theoretically all of them. If it’s legal in Az it’s legal in CA.
we know this to be not the case.

you do need valid insurance too

List. Some like UT and I think AZ have reciprocity with other states.

There was a guy driving across the country in a can am.. I for the life of me can’t remember the name of his website.. long story short he got ticketed in all the states that didn’t allow it (multiple times in some states) and he would go to court and walk out every time with no issues.

Maybe has something to do with the interstate compacts? I’m not sure but every time he got pulled over he’d whip out a big stack of tickets and a big stack of dismissals from courts.

The cops on here said no way in California.. but I’m betting there is someway because I think that was on his list of states he went through?

I went on a Baja ride with a guy from Prescott. He said he takes his RZR to Ventura several times per year. It is Az reg and he has AZ license. He was adamant that in that situation, CA can't stop him. I'm far from an expert but I can see the logic.

You can probably plead ignorance on that deal if you are not a CA resident. You are getting a ticket for sure.. but I don't think they can legally impound a legally street registered car from another state.

Always thought it was cool seeing them run around the urban center of Nashville.

I was not aware it was legal in WA. I will have to look into that more now. I've always said Id own one if I could drive it to Home Depot.
They are now, FIL bought one off a guy here on RDP. Quick 15 min at dmv and they've been running around Leavenworth, and Chelan with it.

Saving lives one SxS impound at a time. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♂️
CHP has assigned Special Officer Doofy to the Case, he will catch those predators, and get them off the street at once! It is rumored that the federal government will be assigning him an MRAP among other equipment to catch them!🤣🤣

I know a guy that drove his AZ plated Lothringer buggy around Mission Viejo every once in a while. It was plated with AZ car plates, not motorcycle plates, and he had it fully insured and he has an AZ DL... He only did it a few times, never ticketed, but was stopped a few times and told by OCSD to STOP or it was going to the impound lot. He use to fight with the officers saying they had to abide by AZ law and would quote the code, and they would say theres exceptions and his buggy is one of them.

Using CARB as an excuse is the same as them impounding your 49 state vehicle registered out of state.

Idaho we can register just about anything. When we moved here I went to register some of our toys, one of them an older KX250 two stroke. Ended up with a street plate for it, no lights, nothing. Side by side is a piece of cake. We roll around town in ours every so often, and see others doing the same all the time.

I would drive mine around Havasu until I saw one involved in a wreck with a car. The car had minor damage and the RZR heavily damaged. The steering wheel was pushed to the rear of the car. Not good.
