I have these little guys all over the ceiling of the front porch at our river house. Tonight I counted 15 of them. I take it they are out to eat bugs. I don't see them out in the day time only at night and during the summer time. I thought maybe these could either be a amphibian or a reptile. Anyone know?

Those Geckos are a good thing.....If only we could teach them to eat fireants!!!
Hawaii is full of them, (so I've been told), and residents actually WANT them inside their houses to kill the bugs....... No harm....Good for the house.....

My buddies mom puts them in her house in SoCal just to keep the spiders and crickets down. After about 20 years of visiting them I have yet to see one insect in the house and she claims the same.

Gecko crap never seemed to be the issue. But come winter time she would find them dead all over the house.

That is a gecko. They keep the bugs away. And, it is believed that they bring good luck.

They are considered good luck in HI for a couple of reasons:
1. They eat bugs
2. They go silent when an intruder is in the house,.. so you get some warning,.. as in creaky floors are good luck.

Those are baby Gecko's. We got a batch of them at our house in the keys as well. I found two babies in the house and had to tranfer them outside. They're getting bigger now and as they grow they darken up a bit. Haven't had a spiderweb on the house all summer. They are sure taking care of business. They hang out on our speakers next to the outside lights at night and are nowhere to be found during the day. Dave and I have always wanted them to find our house. Last year we only had one. I think we have about 7 now.

My Buddy Gordon had them at his house There would be probably 40-50 of them at night. Cool to watch when they would change colors.

I call my place in San Diego the "Gecko Ranch" as I have probably 50 of them running around. We have one in particular that hangs out on our bathroom window that has been there a while.

I cleaned up the firewood and other places they were living around the house this summer when I painted, so I am going to build them a "habitat" up under the eaves with 2.5" black ABS pipe for them to hang during the day.

We get them in the house all the time, and I have a couple living behind my toolbox in the garage too. I love them.

The kids all play catch and release with 'em.
They bring them up on the deck and the color variations are phenomenal.

My nephew brought one home and fattened it up, when he gave it away it was about 7" long, pink and purple in color and it's tail was as big around as his finger.
