With your current motor and prop set up, what is the most efficient cruise speed for your boat?

We cruise about 50. Right around 3800-4000 rpm boat seems happy and not working hard.

Low 60s @ 5000ish RPMs. 200hp merc on a Lavey Mod VP w/ a 24 pitch 4 blade ron hill chopperish thing. Fast enough for it to pack air....which depends on how many people are in the boat and whether the fucking dog decides to crawl under the deck or sit in the back....

4500 rpm is about 45-48 mph depending on trim level. Thats where my vector is smoothest no matter the water condition.
Those 2.0L outboards sip fuel. They’re efficient even at 6000rpm😂

55-60 is about the spot for me, it probably should be higher but I’m pretty much a wimp. It starts getting up out of the water in the low 50’s depending on conditions.

My cruise speed and my wife’s are two different speeds lol. Last boat I’d cruise around 75-80 and it was barely boosting 1-2lbs max.

Current boat I like to cruise around 55-60 but she rather cruise at 45, which barely is enough to pack air and plane LOL

I like to go 25-35 mph, sometimes 40-45 if it’s smooth.

At 30 it’s 2800-3200 rpm
At 45 it’s 3600 rpm or so

496 mag 24 p prop

Nordic 22’ Evolution
SBC, 22p, 3800 rpm ish???, 40-45 mph cruising speed. I really don’t pay attention to the rpm on this boat. After all, top speed is only 65mph. It’s just the family cruiser.

On the Mach 22 5k puts me in the low 70's, a good speed allowing the air to pack some. On the 25 Eagle 3600 puts me in the low 50's. Sometimes just like to put around 30 mph on either and enjoy the scenery. Sometimes 80+ all the way to the gorge.....

rhib should be 4.15 gph per motor at 3000 rpm so that should be around 27 mph.

98 gallons gets me 312 miles on a tank or about 3.25 mpg

I always giggled at the enduro race in Parker...some of the teams bring a whole trailer full of fuel drums. We had an old plastic drum we'd fill up at whoever was cheapest in town in the morning and then stop by Walmart for a gallon of TCW3 and dump it in....we usually had about 10 gallons left over after the race. (2L outboard class). Guys spend more on fuel for the race then we had tied up in the whole fucking boat

For the 26’ which is propped for arrowhead I can do about 25 at 2000 rpm and 35 about 2500. 26p Maximus.

For the 30, because of the hull, it has to do at least 40 before the bottom frees up, and that’s just above 3000. This boat isn’t propped for top speed either, more for hole shot and cruise since we ski with it. This has a 16” diameter 30p cleaver 5 blade. Prop rake is 15, I really wish we could try 18, or 21.

26P 300r cruising 47-53 mph typically. On long runs really only get passed by twin toons or offshore on the lake style boats . Seems to me the average boat still cruises in the high 30’s / low 40’s

30-45 depending on conditions. I'll push it whenever possible until my Radar gun ( aka..wife) starts throwing up the slow down sign.

About 75 at 3600. Don't know what the mileage is, but it's not good. 36 x 17 Herrings on M6 drives.

No wife that acts as a speed regulator here. Whatever speed I want to go is fine with her.

Been telling the wife we need a boat with twin 450s cause it takes 91 fuel. She laughs everytime when I’m loading these into the truck.

That's a great case for new boat....if my wife paid attention to how much anything costs, I'd attempt to do the same.
