Hide under a desk?
It's as if the news knows it's coming soon with reports such as this lately.

American and Canadian fighter aircraft intercepted two Russian and two Chinese nuclear-capable strategic bombers off the coast of Alaska on Wednesday, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said, the first time China's planes have been detected near U.S. territory in the area.

LOl.. Headlines. "Nuclear-capable strategic bombers off the coast of Alaska" isn't that scary when you realize there is only about 55 miles separating us from Russia, and most planes could literally carry a nuclear bomb... all depends on the size of that bomb obviously.

Don't fall for the bullshit. Our military planes fly close to international borders all the time.

In the past few weeks, all the major players have been flying like this. No different, but someone running the media wanted to scare some people.

Besides, in this day and age, bombers would launch cruise missiles from far away, or be used against less capable opponents.

At the Raytheon lrrs sites along the coast of Alaska the techs had nicknames for the Russian pilots.
Lol
It’s nothing new at all. I don’t know how often they push the line these days, but back then it was pretty much constant.
We don’t even scramble jets anymore, there’s no reason to.
Most of the forward response bases are shut down now anyways.

There is nothing new about this. Russia has been doing this a very long time.

it gives them a chance to time our intercept response times.
probe for weak spots in our radar and detection systems
analyze the radar signature of our latest fighters that have low radar signatures. (f22’s etc)
costs us time and money on useless intercept garbage. And keeps valuable assets in that region.
the cherry on top would be an international incident but that is the last thing we want.

just take a deep breath those headlines are yellow journalism at its finest.
