150k plus on LBZ trucks and people ask 35k plus!!!!

Yes the LBZ is good. It's not worth 35k plus with higher mileage.

I don't get it.

They write these ads like the holy grail sought after best GM made product ever blah blah blah.

Just me?

Crazy right.

I don't get where or why people put them up on a pedestal. LLY add a built 6 speed modify the cooling stack and voila. The newer trucks are fine also. DPF delete tune and off you go.

Yea but that ends up being 10k in upgrades for the non DIY guy

I'm looking to get another diesel myself, I'm also shocked at the prices in the used truck market.

Should have kept my 08 LMM LTZ 4x4. Bought it for 32k, put 50k on it, sold it for 31k lol. Now I'm looking for another!

I don't really get it for the sake of an LBZ alone. There are a couple contributing factors that I do see though. First it's kinda like the prices of used boats, the cost of new makes the used stuff hold value. For example a new truck isn't 35K anymore they are around 70K :eek Second the LBZ is a pre-DPF and is been known to have less issues than the 2008+ vehicles with that easier to modify and tune for more power without getting into federal emissions law issues

When I listed mine the response was crazy. People ready to fly in from another state next day. I got $31K for mine. Best truck I have owned. Had about 20 offers first week sight unseen at $28K. 84,000 miles on it. Bought 2 new Duramax work trucks or I would of never sold it. Worked almost every day since selling so do not miss it much. Almost ready to buy another new truck, need a crew cab have 4 reg cab work trucks.

We had an 03 crewcab duramax dually. Thing was great, I was just never a fan of the front ends of that particular year. Sold it probably 5 years ago for 25k with 65k miles on it. It's probably still worth that Lol.

Shit reminds me of boat prices too. People asking stupid money for stuff. Like 1/4 price hike from this time last year for same stuff.:rolleyes

maybe the insane prices of new trucks are having an impact on the used market.

so yeah if you can find a clean used truck with reasonable miles it stands to reason they are in high demand.

I sold mine to a guy who bought a brand new Dodge Cummins. He had numerous issues so went back to a pre def truck. I was surprised when he said they would finance $36K on it at 3.9%.

I'd buy at $28K for a well taken care of truck at 84K miles vs. a beat to shit truck with 150-200K miles for $25K.

I hear you. Buyer said he had looked at 15 or so trucks already. Most were beat. I had a deal lined up for $15K off new work truck so I sold. Was going to hold out for $35K my asking price. Buyer kept on me and I figured $31k was not bad for a 10 year old truck I paid $47k for.

Damn! I had only 33k on mine until I got my River pad. Was only for towing toyhauler or boat 3rd truck.

I would buy another one if you decide to sell soon.

I have a 2003 long bed crew 4x4 loaded with 220 on the clock. What do you think it's worth? Looking at selling pretty soon.

I sold my 03 Dually LB7 which was clean as hell with 97k on the clock for $16,500, but it took some time. LBZ's do fetch a higher number and so do non duallys so that is something to keep in mind.

I wish I had kept my dually, but the 2018's from Ford, Chevy and Dodge are expected to have 910, 915 and 930 ft tq. If you delete the California ones, they will run like a champ. If you don't delete and try to use it as a grocery getter, you may have some issues.

I'm planning on getting a 2018 Dodge Mega Lariat 4x4 Cummins as they can be had for $50,700 and I have heard little complaints from all I know who bought 2017's. I've also seen many sell their Ford's and Chevy's to go Dodge. Not trying to get into the debate though as I'd buy a Chevy if I could get a similar Silverado for that price.

If you delete any late model truck it will run so much better and not have any of those emission related issues that seem to dog these trucks.

I use it when I need a truck, the rest of the time it spends in the garage. 3500 CC DRW, I can't afford to replace it. Honestly, when I bought it I thought holy crap this is expensive! Not so much now. Disclaimer, I work for GM, so don't want to get into a Ford vs GM vs Dodge shit show. Thanks.

What is the cooling stack mod? Any links to this?

I've got a really clean red 2006 ccsb 4x4 lbz for sale. Just under 95k miles. I've got it listed for $34k and getting lots of offers for $29k. I'll hold out for the right buyer at $32k. It's been babied.
The lbz trucks that are clean seem to bring the money

Bummer that it is red. I would be all over it if white.

$60k new trucks and $35k 10 year old diesels are why I keep this 07 gasser around. Picked it up from the original owner for $10k with 130k on the clock.
Bulletproof LQ4 6.0 / 4L80 combo. Will hold 55mph on a CA grade pulling a 10k, does what it needs to do. Very little maintenance, and what it does need is dirt cheap. Easy to work on, replacement engines (or brand new transmissions) can be had for $1500.00 if one of them ever lets loose.
It doesn't care if it idles in traffic all day, virtually no smog equipment except for a cat. I miss my diesel but the gasser really does fulfill the need of your not pulling mega-weight. Having the pink slip in the drawer instead of a payment is the icing on the cake

My V10 sucks the fuel compared to my 6.0 gasser but it is geared lower F550. I have searched for days for used 06-12 gas Chevy crew cab 2500 4x4. Waiting for October sale might be better off buying new. I do not drive enough to buy another diesel unless a killer deal pops.

Anyone have a crew cab Chevy gasser they are debating selling let me know.

That's the only burn with mine, it's 2wd. Wife hates pulling the boat out with it, having to balance the tire spin / momentum just right at Jack Smith. She's used to 4wd

So true....I've had two if the LMM's and have done the deletes on both. Both ran like bats out of hell and fuel mileage got much better. My current '08 only has 33k on the clock.....

Not much value on lb7.

Why do you say that?? Lb7 are not that bad..yes they have injector problems you replace them with the updated ones put a lift pump on it with the better filters and you should be good to go.
I just picked up and lb7 cclb 4x4 at 80mph I get 20 mpg have no complaints.

Yes for smog if you know a shop that will prentend they see a cat and dpf so it will pass the visual. It's not the tuner and delete that makes it fail, it's the visual inspection.

As far as warranty goes, I had my LMM at 2 different dealers for warranty items. Both times I drove it to the dealer deleted tuned without issue.

The Ford has its benefits of the bigger cab and solid front axle, but my 6.0 GM burned much less fuel than my V10 and was far more pleasurable to drive.

I agree I also have an lly..I should have done the 6speed conversion whenever I did the tranny. Last time I checked it was around $1,500 but that was a little bit ago.
Put an lbz or the S&B mouth piece on it helps out:)
As for as the auxiliary radiator that was the best thing I ever did that was a little expensive but worth every penny.

I went from a 2003 gas 6.0, to a 2008 6.6, to a 2015 6.6, and just picked up a 2017 Denali duramax.

The power of this new motor is incredible, and there is absolutely no need to modify it at all.

You really just can't describe how nice it is to have unlimited power on tap, no matter what is or isn't behind you.

Just sold my 06 LBZ w/ 102k mi that was stupid clean for $27k...Had alot of interest but it was mostly from non-english speaking car dealers in 714 area code trying to get it for $22k.

Guy flew to SD from SF and paid cash. $27k for mine or 67k for a new one...Easy decision.
