As many of you know my father passed last week. It has been a real struggle for me. Ups and Downs’s. We had a blended family and that has been the hardest part. His wife (stepmom) is not talking to me and what not. Anyway I was thinking maybe I’ll keep his rzr but not sure what it’s worth?

It’s a 2017 xp1k4 non turbo. Red and black (graphics removed) it has full doors (Polaris) and a stock cage. Has about 700 miles on it. No motor mods at all. He put 30 inch pro armor tires and matching spare. Has a rugged radio and intercom. Also a 32” lightbar on the roof. He also has two safeglo whips on it. Lastly he had the stage 3 shock package from walker Evans with new springs, new valving and bigger reservoirs. John at just money serviced it and big question what is it worth?

Just a thought for trade in value the dealers kick you in the nuts hard. My buddy has a 2017 general and has bought a 2018 rzr. They wanted to give him like 11,000 on the trade. Upgraded wheels, tires, whips, harnesses, light bar.

I’ll give him $11100.

I agree with others. Brand new out the door is 21.5 maybe even lower. 20k ish is a good estimate. I am sorry for your loss.

Unfortunately, Polaris screwed current RZR owners by hammering their prices on new ones. I would say it's worth 18-20k

You can buy a new one for $18,300, this one has about $4500 in accessories and 700mi on it. I’d say $18,500-$20,000 is what the RZR would sell for based on my experience.

I would say $16k to $18k no matter how slice the pie it's still a used RZR with 700 miles

The shock package, wheels and tires it worth quite a bit. Just for reference, I just sold a 16 with 23hrs and 300 miles for 18.5k with a few upgrades, but not as much as yours.

18-20k

Sorry for your loss. I'd try to keep it just for sentimental value if I were you and had the means to do so. Cant beat the fun they are and watching sunsets sharing some cold ones thinking about your pops.

Yep I have my own two seat commander now. Always wanted to go to a 4 seat rzr but don’t know if my wife and I can swing this right now

Show step mom some comps and make her a fair "family" offer of 15-16K (she isn't going to know about the wheel/suspension cost)

Sell the 2 seater

There is no way in hell I would over pay or even pay market value.....If she isn't fair on things I wouldn't help one iota with anything going forward.

People are so greedy...sucks

I would say $18-20 also!

For 22-24 you can find ones all decked out with cage, sand tires, spare tire, seats, steering wheel and have about 1100 miles a lot of goodies/ add ons. Your going to need a 3 seater at least in the near future maybe 2-3 maybe 4 years. It sure would be nice to have your pops ride!

Congratulations on the little one! Your going to be an Awesome dad!

I know your having a really hard time with everything going on and trying to more forward. I know I sure would. Keep in mind people act really weird after a death and your step mom lost her partner, she is now alone and family just can’t replace your husband /wife... She is going thru the same thing you are but she doesn’t have her right arm so to speak.

I wish you the best, during this difficult time!

The trade in stuff always takes a tremendous haircut....

Yea it does. Those sellers are hard to find after they get to the dealer but before they see what the private party market and dealing with that sale is like. But if you can find them at the right time you can get a good deal and make their life easy.

I scored my 1 year old 4runner that way. I gave them $500 more than the dealer was going to give them on trade.

If it doesn’t have any sentimental value I would just let it sell thru the estate. You said the Step Mom is already not talking to you so this could just escalate things.

If it does hold some sentimental value (which I’m guessing it does) have a 3rd Party purchase it from the estate and buy it back from them. Should be a lot less drama?

Gotta love Step Parents! My Step Mom basically took everything when my pops passed, and had zero remorse. The only thing I got of his was his machinist tool box which of course she sold all the tools that were in it, lol.

Sorry to hear about your Dad! He was one of the good guys!

If you get to the point of selling it let me know. If you need to show greedy relatives a bill of sale for crazy cheap we can do that also. Know what I mean?
To be sorta honest and my being a dad feeling... I know you have sentimental connection. Sell it, put the money into a college fund. By the time your new child is ready for school that 16k ish would increase and be enough for college. THAT would be the greatest honor to your dad.

I go both ways. My dad really enjoyed off-roading and would want me to have the same memories I had growing up off-roading and doing it in the toy that was once his means something to me.

Another part of me says don’t worry about it. I don’t need it now and I can buy another one when I do and it’s still the same memory for my kids like it was for me.

My gut says she won’t even give me the opportunity to buy it so plan 2 would be my option

If you can buy it cheap and easy that's the route I would go. If not, move on and don't help with the sale if she is being difficult.

The new Rzr is being released next week. Supposed to be a game changer. Old Rzr prices will tank.

This is about what I would estimate.

I don't know anything about the RZR market, but I've always adhered to the idea that recoverable vehicle customization expenditures are at best about 30-40% of the initial outlay, and possibly less.

I use this guesstimate when purchasing stuff, and it's usually a good rule of thumb when selling too. Like always, finding the right buyer is key, and as I said I don't know how many buyers are out there for this kind of vehicle.

Unless the new one is priced $40+

Yea, if a new one is $40k used prices will stay about the same.

If a new one is in the same price range it pushes all used prices down. Why buy a used one when a much better new one is a grand or two more?

Ok guys. This is going up for sale this weekend.

My question for you is should I leave it in havasu and try to sell or take it home to Cali and try there?

Lost my dad 3 years ago.

My brother and I went through dealing with his estate. Luckily we have a good relationship so everything was 50/50.

At the time I just inherited a business and he was in school.

My advice with this kind of stuff would be to contact someone like maxed out marine and see what it'll cost to sell.

The emotions and stress of dealing with real life plus this stuff can take a real toll.

Sometimes it's better to just let someone else deal with it even if it costs a few bucks.

Just my .02 sorry for your loss I know it sucks.

The Snowbirds are still in town and still buying, depending on asking price and how soon you're going to be advertising, I would list in Havasu - But if the time frame turns more like the end of the month or into April I would take it back to CA.....
