Rumor has it they had to shut down because the guy that drew up all their jailhouse tattoo looking gel schemes went back in to the big house and all white boats only sell well on the east coast

I doubt it. They never really had a great reputation as it was. They had some nice models, modern looking with nice lines, and I'm sure someone will build boats out of their molds.

I don't know enough of the details to be accurate, but I knew some of his close friends. To make the story really short, he was at a party, went outside by himself and was found later. There is a homicide investigation and he was beaten badly. They originally had thought he might have had a heart attack and fallen on his head, but the investigation showed his chest and back were kicked or hit with a something. Somebody basically beat him and left him to die. Pretty shitty deal.

There was an article on them not long ago and if I remember correctly a guy that had been involved with Kachina earlier was going to keep it going. I'll have to try and find the article.

I would have thought someone would do something with Kachina boats. It was an original Arizona mfg. And around longer than any others, for the most part.

The gel coat could use a few tweeks with the right sprayer, but it would be a worthy project to see Kachina going again under the right staff.

How much do you think its worth? I'm assuming its for sale?

dave keiker(sp?) is running it now(was the original owner and then small partner with louie), but he is a ford/jetboat guy(prob the reason so many here say kachina who?)

The bank took and sold all the bigger molds. Dave owned the small molds from before he lost the company to Louie. Dave also always owned the property, Louie leased the property for Kachina from Dave.
