Just got home and my back yard is flooded. Water meter was running crazy. I shut off the water now I'm going to start digging around to see if I can find out where it's coming from. I think it's the pool. [emoji35] going to be a long night

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I think the pool might be connected to the sprinklers. Can you isolate the house from the yard/pool?
From the equipment?
Is there a box up front by your front yard water hose? Should be something to isolate just the sprinklers
Where did you shut the water off? At the house or the meter?
There is but I can't figure it out. The gardener is going to cruise over and see if he can help
You have a couple minutes to shoot over to the depot or lowes. Pick up a 3/4" valve (metal not PVC), split that PVC going back in the ground, remove the male fitting that goes up to the copper and throw the new valve in the female where the PVC was. Close the valve and deal with that shit tomorrow.
Check the sizing. might be 1/2 but looks like 3/4 to me.
I keep caps and plugs of 1/2 and 3/4 in the tool box for emergencies like this. A threaded garden hose valve works in a pinch also. You have a couple minutes to shoot over to the depot or lowes. One of those want to cry moments. [emoji107]if anyone can recommend someone to help me out I'm afraid it's out of my hands now.
No way to isolate it for now? if you did not live so far I would shoot over there.
Go turn off the valve above your water heater if you haven't already told the people in the house to stop using water. Don't turn off the gas line, just the water feeding the tank so it doesn't drain cause your wife doesn't believe the water is off.
Get to the store and buy that valve. You could be showering by now.
First things first, you want house water turned back on. Under concrete doesn't mean jack crap. Under a patio slab? A PVC re-route is cheap. Now, if it's under the house or an actual slab leak, still not that big of a deal but you need to isolate the location. Only way to start down that trail is cap that PVC and turn the water back on. Then, sit over the meter and see if it still moves if you don't see running water or hear a hiss. If the meter doesn't move, call it a night. If it continues to move call a plumber or a good friend who doesn't mind taking the day off tomorrow.
I don't think so. I don't really care that the water is off the kids are asleep and the adults can manage. I'm just scared about what in going to find out tomorrow. I don't really even know who to call. I wanted to remodel the backyard and re finish the pool but not like this [emoji12] and to top it off my wife tweaked her neck and can't move. That's actually how I found out the back was flooded. I went in the back to turn on the spa. Otherwise I wouldn't have known
Where do I cap it at? While I was digging I didn't find any pvc but I followed the water to under the concrete between the spa and house/dirt. View attachment 515473 View attachment 515474
Good thing you caught it sooner than later. Like was mentioned have to add another valve to isolate it. Relax tonight let it dry out and if you need to text me pics or give me a call tomorrow. Pouring concrete tomorrow at 2 locations so cant jam out there and no time to log in.
I'm just guessing since I'm not standing there but....
The copper pipe coming out of the ground to the left of the 2 valves is your line from the meter. That goes up and T's. One pipe goes toward the house and 1 pipe goes to the hose bib. Right before the hose bib there is another T with a threaded fitting where the PVC starts and goes back into the ground. Cut that PVC pipe and cap where it connects with the copper. Just looking at your other pics it looks like your leak is still outside the house. Making me still think your pool builder tapped off the sprinkler line for the pool fill and that's what runs around back.
Do you have a hose bib anywhere near the pool equipment? Can you take a pic of that if you do?

Ok I'm following you. Thanks for all you're help I really appreciate it. I'll take some pics right now
I think you're right and the pool is tied into the sprinklers. I need to cap that
Do you happen to have some christies and a PVC cap?
