Well, to be fair most any old pickup restored to that level is pretty worthless... Other than looking cool. I would say 99 percent of the owners aren't daily driving them. It’s gonna be a stupid expensive and stupid worthless because it’s an EV
The starting MSRP of $159,000 USD won’t be for everyone of course, but there is already an orderly queue forming with refundable deposits of $1,000 USD being taken to get a place in the line. If you’d like to read more or enquire about buying one of your own you can visit Kindred Motorworks here.
That’s neat and all, but they never get down to the nitty-gritty of the total total cost involved. I’d like to know where you’re sitting if somebody wanted to do that 30 K 50 K more? I’m waiting for the roadkill version, I’ll go be poor somewhere else.It really isn't that big of a deal, someone makes a "tesla crate motor." It bolts right in place of a small block Chevy.
The "crate motor" system, is $40,000. How much does 400 volt, 1600 amps of battery cost? That’s neat and all, but they never get down to the nitty-gritty of the total total cost involved. A person could build a pretty stout piston engine for a lot less fill up at the local gas station instead of parking for however long it takes to charge all those batteries. The "crate motor" system, is $40,000. How much does 400 volt, 1600 amps of battery cost?
