Question for those who have mounted a classic ski for wall art, what did you use to do it?

I used a wire and ran it around the ski between the front boot and heel cup. Attached the wire to a secure screw in the wall. Then I just used a small wire on the skag and attached it to a small screw for balance. You couldn’t see any of the hardware, it looked like it was screwed to the wall.

I have a pair of Cypress Gardens skis, hung on the ceiling of the bar for 30+ years. A 71" single ski, and the single boot ski of a set of doubles, 6" shorter. Deck screwed to the ceiling, got them the day they closed for good. Rumor has it, the bar started as an American Legion in the 40's or 50's. Dirt floor back then, hung huge blocks of ice in the corners for cooling in the summer.
"Stayed at the bar till closing time"

I’ve made a few sets over the years starting by cutting some slanted U shapes out of IPE’ or other strong wood, and then milling down a redwood 2 x 4 or some other nice looking softer wood and screwing the U onto it from the back side- 32” O.C. Seems to work for the spacing for many skis
