Has anyone had any success/suggestions for a water flow sensing device that sends alerts when there may be a water leak? This seems like an annual occurence in Havasu due the the harsh water. Any suggestions from the experienced ones? Much appreciated.

I just had one installed it’s awesome. The water company installed it for $240 and no monthly fees. Good for 10 years.
Sends data hourly and notifies you of a leak. Gives me other reports by day, week, month, usage up or down etc…

I put a new filter on my ice maker and couldn’t bleed off the first 2 gallons so I let the ice maker run for 2 days dumping the new ice. It sent me an alert saying that something appears out of the ordinary was using .4 gallons an hour for 2 days.

The app is EyeOnWater.

Did the Lake Havasu water company install it?

Yes, but I have read online the electric valve doesn't like heat so don't install it outside. I also run their drip detectors under fridge, sink, and dishwasher. It runs a self leak check every night if you like. Shuts valve, it looks for pressure drop. 500 for the Flo unit.

One of my friends runs several small water companies out here. His "dashboard" on his phone looks very similar to that. He can check tank levels, GPM per pump as well as amps.

It's really impressive technology. I didn't know they made consumer type stuff as well.

I have installed a 4 of the Moen Flo devices. I have one in Havasu and this is the 4th year in the heat with no problem. I can turn it off instantly from my phone.

This lady mentions her valve sticking with heat warp I believe. If you have issues with your flow sensor not working they sell a turbine replacement kit now.

If your Flo isn't registering the GPM here is the repair kit. The Flo can't detect water issues if it can't see GPM when your water is running. Notice how my magnets on the original turbine are rusted. I tried cleaning them with CLR but once the rust was cleaned, there wasn't much of the magnets left. Old turbine parts to the right in first picture.

Here is the kit. I bought two so I have a backup. Hard water, which I really don't have in Huntington Beach, will kill the magnets faster. The replacement turbine is a different design. Magnets are still exposed tho.

Instructions.
