asking for a friend..

he does not have CCW.

few questions.

a. Walking around?
1. holstered pistol, unloaded.
2. loaded clip on belt pouch.
is this legal?

b. Shotgun
1. unloaded.
2. rounds on hunting vest.
Is this legal?

again asking for a friend

If unanswered, I'll reach out to the local sheriff LEO un or near Seattle.

Thanks

This is what I found. Kind of like Oregon it seems. Open carry is legal, but if it's in your car it must but be unloaded. But I just text a family member that lives in Washington to fund out for sure

When I lived there it was my understanding the states constitution is very gun friendly. Open carry is legal.

WA constitution says: "SECTION 24 RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men."

just got off the phone w/King County Sheriff's department

Washington is open carry. Unloaded firearm.
Pistols and Long Rifles must be visible exposed.

Question for the LEO's.

What is your Holster recommendation for walking around town, maybe a little running also.

I realize your 1st option is NONE dont be stupid!!

what is your 2nd opinion?

Thanks

Be SAFE!!

Not a LEO, but I like Safariland ALS. 6354DO from my G17. Active retention, but no hood.

Out of curiosity, why not just get the concealed permit? I have never been a fan of people knowing you are carrying let alone that its unloaded.

You guys are looking at this all wrong.
The city of Seattle recognizes Chaz or Chop or wtf it is as a separate nation.
Seattle rules don’t apply once through the wall...
This is evidenced by the actions of the insurgents, and the inaction of the City.

In other words...who gives a fuck what the rules are. Those went out the window weeks ago.

I understand it’s in our nature to be law abiding citizens even in times of lawlessness.
If you guys are going to do this then you must decide yes or no.
Debating the intricacies of Washington/ Seattle’s concealed and open carry laws on the Internet means you already failed.
Going through the barricades means you better be committed to what that means.

I don’t live there anymore so I can say now that in CA I carried concealed without any paper for many years with a ghost glock and never told a soul.
Not everyday, but most days. Bars included.

So what it comes down to is this. There are no rules or laws that apply as far as what you are planning. If shots are fired then laws will apply in the aftermath.
Murder is still murder, assault is still assault.
According to what we currently see with Seattle “agreeing” to cement barriers, you will be invading.
I’m all for it, times ten, and may show up myself, but I will not be concerned about Seattle’s CCW or carry laws if I do show.

They have their rules...I have mine.

The one you train with. It doesn't matter how cool it is, or how highly recommended it is, if you don't know how to use it, it is worthless.

I carry a couple different holsters and train with all of them. Apex carry is a cut and dry kydex or other hard plastic holster. Outer waistband all have a snap hood (leather).
