Hey Guys,

We've got a 1999 Ultra 21' I believe it is the Redline Series. We had the boat out this past weekend at Parker, I had it out running at full throttle for a while then an alarm would go off from under the dash, the first time I backed off to check everything and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. After deciding I didn't see anything wrong I headed back out again, going full throttle and then the alarm went off again, all the gauges were reading fine as well.

After the second time I decided to take it back to camp and let my dad know what happen, so he took it out again and no alarm, we had it running at full throttle for a while. The only thing I can think of was the boat possibly caught too much air (had the trim running pretty high to keep the boat on top of the water) and the prop came completely out off the water. Would this trigger an alarm or what might have triggered it?

Also, we checked the oil and it was all good, just had the boat serviced at the end of last season. Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you check the drive reservoir for drive lube? If it is below the line the sensor will cause the buzzer to go off.

You may have also been hitting the Rev Limiter....I've read that on some Merc motors if you hit the rev limiter repeatedly it can set off an alarm.

Also when checking the fluids remember the fluids levels can change on Trim pump reservoirs depending on the position of the cylinder.

Just a thought,

Chris
