Who can tell me What and where is the oldest operating bar in America located? Name the bar and city. Be honest, no using internet. The answer may surprise you, but it's sensible.

Actually, without looking it up, I believe I'm mistaken, and will go with Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar, also in NOLA

It's a trick question. The cups say 1772 ok BUT Louisiana was not part of the USA until 1803 via the Louisiana purchase from France. That fact would possibly change the answer. Is Boston back in the mix?

I was going to say Tun Tavern est 1686 in Pa. that was aver 90 years old when the Marine Corps was established there in 1775. But it burned down and has since relocated to Quantico Va.

I looked it up and there was a bar/saloon of the same name in the 50's in Seligman AZ. How's that for a hint?:D

I remember the same thing the last time my wife and I were there, but I when I was a senior in high school, '74, we went back east to visit 2 guys my dad was in the Marines/Korea with. They went drinking at The White Horse in Rhode Island and they said it was the oldest bar in America. I haven't thought of that trip in a long time.

We've been to the Genoa Bar in Genoa Nevada a few times too. My wife's parents use to live in Tahoe and we'd go down the hill and have a beer in Nevadas oldest bar. Cool place.
