The spaceport was built for Virgin galactic using taxpayer funds.
It's been pretty much unused since built waiting for Virgin galactic to get their space program going.
Wasn't that whole deal put together by ex. Democrat ex.Governor Bill(the shyster)Richardson?

I saw Branson’s space craft launch plane take off and fly around Mojave last Saturday. It must of been planned because there were a lot of people parked and taking pictures with some serious cameras.

I know Richardson was a big part of that X Prize thing they did in the early 2000's, so probably so.

That new thing out there, I think its called Spin Launch, is a pretty crazy idea. Ive heard numerous stories about investors buying land/houses up in the champagne hills area east of the butte, along with lots at the golf course, all in case the spaceport ends up taking off big.
