The one with the runway gives a great perspective before the peninsula was turned into an island when the bridge was built.a quick search turned these up. View attachment 1203220 View attachment 1203221 View attachment 1203222

Cool video….I like the McCulloch in a few places. Then LAX drive up to the plane. And don’t forget the lack of wave makers in Havasu. The water was smooth!!!! But why did the boat go under????
He didn't read the river, duh.
Loved the original airport on the Island. That was an amazing experience. You might this route 66 episode filmed at site six.
I picked up a stone and a coin over the internet. Trying to find the original havasu monopolyEstate sales…a lot of the OG havasu pioneers are dying. I’ve picked up some really cool havasu history stuff over the years this way..I have all the commemorative coins etc that are being put into a wall display.
V-drive?
All Bro's and no Hoes. Bet they built a rollbar for the following season.
Love this pic. I worked at the McCulloch Chain Saw plant by LAX when they were starting to move out to Havasu. They offered employees full relocation costs, including moving expenses, rent & utility deposits, down payment assistance, and a bunch of other substantial perqs. Even though we had our trailer on the River (Jolly Knight), I loved surfing and my (then) girlfriend too much to move out full time. You could buy bare land, now within the city limits, for less than $500 an acre.
