Started the road trip end of March. Hit Oceanside with Family in tow for a few days. Rained like hell but had a good time
Then Mrs Lazy and I headed east bound. Took our time, 4 days to Waco. Hit Tombstone and some small RV/Community parks (blue hairs) a bit off the hwy. I'm very adamant about staying as far from the highway as possible and reasonable. Very peaceful..... the folks we met were wonderful.
From Waco, took the toad up to Fort Worth, hung out with an old partner at the Stockyards.
Back to Waco to the Brazos River Rv Park for the eclipse and checked out the sights in and around Waco, Dr Pepper and Texas Ranger museums, Heritage Homeland (highly recommended) and of course Mrs had to go to see Magnolia and their enterprise. I'll admit it was impressive. They surely gave that town a shot in the arm.
The Tuesday storm brought clouds and thunderstorms and threat of tornadoes, but as if it was a miracle, the clouds opened up for 5 minutes to see the total eclipse in full view.
About 3000 miles total... Great experience, even Mrs Lazy enjoyed the event.
