Daytona is heading to the shop tomorrow for the 540 motor. The 496 has low hours and runs perfectly. I am keeping the headers. What do you guys think I can/should sell the 496 for? I have no idea on how much to ask. Runs flawlessly and has around 200 hours.

496HO? or 496? also what year?

They used to go for 8-12K a few years back. Not sure if that has changed recently.

The boat is a 2006 Daytona. So I would assume the motor is that era also.

its only worth what some one will pay. I think some of y'alls price is alittle high. Is a 496ho a motor alot of people upgrade to?

496ho headers won’t fit a standard BBC540. That throws me off. It should have come with manifolds anyhow. 8k 496ho with no exhaust.

454 stroked to a 496 depends completely on the parts, heads, etc.

Thanks for the input. I’m thinking 8 grand without the headers. I would keep it as a back up for my 236 Eagle but that boat has less than 150 hours her. And my garage is pretty full. So I can’t really store it. Its a Merc 496 HO
