Irealize there will be comments about the Indians.I have been here 11 years,no problems. It's our home now, gotta say on property we are fortunate enuff to own.Anyways a few pics of the progress as of today.I will add often.
The marina is completed, how they eventually handle the algae bloom going to be interesting. The structures were brought in,all modular. The infrastructure is about finished and ready for build. Many months of work. [Quote earlier thread from last August]

From the Havasu side of the lake I am starting to see more lights around the build area. In Havasu things take a white to complete. How long has the Refuge been in the build mode or Foothill Estates. In HB it took them about 20 years to build Pacific City. It was stopped many time due to no cash.

Pacific City, not so sure it have ever made much money. I would not be suprised if CC allows it they do not level it for condos. I bet the land is worth 50-100 Mil.

They are trying to open up by Thanksgiving. They still are having problems with the details.

Anyone wanna bet that it doesn't open till 2020. there is ALOT that still needs to happen before they get occupancy permits.

You guys have more correct info than we have.
We are not aware of who actually has the responsibility of running what looks like a first class destination.I want no part of posting about the Indians,we have lived here 12 years on property we own and have enjoyed everyday of it.I watched every phase of the new marina, hotel,& Casino be built with 1st class materials and professional people putting it all together.Incredible infrastructure. If this place is run with the same intention of quality as the people who built it the whole place going to be awesome destination for many years.

I was talking to a guy at the golf coarse who said he had something to do with the gaming machines. He said it would take 6 weeks to set the machines up once the contract is signed. He was the one that said it would be lucky to open by Thanksgiving.

Yes. Machines are tight. :D
Indian tribal casino's in Ca are not required by the state to any minimum payout on their slots. In Az the state requires an 80% to 100% payback. Compared to Nevada where they average 95%. Maybe still worth the drive to Laughlin ….lol

They have very good blackjack rules. Best I know of anywhere.

This November was the story by all last weekend. I remain sceptical.

Info is all over the board.. lol. I saw somewhere online that they were hoping to open in 3-4 weeks. If that’s true (which I hope it is) it would be great to take the boat over for thanksgiving for some fun.

Anyone know if they put a nice restaurant in it?

We have some friends that rented a house in Havasu for the week so I’m sure we will he spending a lot of time with them.

I also don’t have all the helmets etc to comply with ca laws for off-roading etc. (I’m assuming poker run if offroad)

Lots of banter on this, what I had heard is that the fire department was not adequate in size to support a much larger hotel and casino and that was holding up the opening, and then who provides the fire department, the county or the tribe.

The whole place could have been a first class destination , Hell , ive had a foot or a finger in the place since the 70's and the best definition of the place is a "time capsule" this is both so cool and yet so damn frustrating...

Time will tell.... worst thing that happens is nothing changes.

There is an actual fire and paramedic on the clock now , they were set in place about 4 or 5 weeks ago.... that box has been checked.

SB County provides fire.Recently has been beefed up with full time staff.County sent several suits out here for a meeting explaining they realize the requirements.

I kept hoping for a boat up bar. Something like they have at Foxes or The Roadrunner down on the strip. It looks like they have an area right out front that would work. Another thing important to the residents over here is golf cart access to get to the casino without going out on the road. Sherriff in the resort is cool. CHP outside not so much

Not sure on the percentage of payouts but their pay tables suck.
Wife and i play a lot of keno and you have to play at least 3 bets to get a comparable win with only 1 bet in laughlin or vegas.

We gave one of the security guards a ride back to havasu and she's quitting after 20 years.
We asked her what was going on with the new casino and she said they ran out of money.
Not sure how true it is but it makes sense for all the delays in construction

I keep wondering if now is the time to buy in that vista Del Lagos development over there.. With the new casino one would think property values would go up? It’s deeded land but must be a mobile home but you can stick build a garage.. (I don’t understand those requirements but that’s what it is or was last time I looked into it)

That little casino is pretty well miss managed.. lol. I have been in there with both black jack tables full and people betting heavy and they close them down at midnight or whatever time they close.. blew my mind. Why stop the action? Lol

Then I gotta sit on my ass for another hour while my wife plays slots etc..

That said I still enjoy going there and gambling.

There are stick homes in there too, pretty sure one sold last year for about 300k. Doesn't seem worth it to me, you can by a bigger lot also deeded land w/o the HOA. Here is an example, I would be all over this one, but no $$$.

We ride from Parker to Havasu Landing. It's an awesome ride if you ever want to go. About 60mi each way.

All this is true. Just to clarify, it is currently a fireman paramedic and a captain. The County moved staffing from 29 Palms to Havasu to make it happen. The Department understands the need out there, but the funding for more staffing is not. Big River needs its station re-opened too. There will be a third man (engineer) added to Havasu eventually. Then, I’ll sign up for a shift out there to visit!

But are they getting paid :)
FIL’s company responded to signage bid. He withdrew from consideration, when he could not get shared vision on payment structure. His standard process is a % down once the design is reviewed and approved, then installment payments during build with final payment (not to exceed 20%) due post install.

Yes their rules are very good however last time I was there they mentioned that was going to be changing. Also I know they were short dealers and pit bosses and that problem only going to get worse when they move to the new place which has a couple more tables.

They have hired a company to run the restaurant, I wonder if the overall operations are being farmed out and this is part of the problem with people leaving.

I didn't say the information was correct did I?
And there hasn't been a truck moving there for months until recently so my information is correct.
And the sign was put up last week? What about opening in april, then june, then august?
I didn't say I cared the security guard is quitting and it wasn't ready to open when she was quitting.
Not sure why you have such a hard on for this place anyway
We usually take a ride across the lake to see the progress and most of the time there wasn't a soul around.
Why not jump on River Dave for saying it;s so ill managed?
that's the fact jack!

I hope so, the service in the current place is the worse, which is strange b/c everyone I deal w/ at the landing is awesome, super friendly. I think they should turn the original casino into a brewery

Really want to stop going around about this. I meant the signage on each side of the exterior of the Hotel/Casino Building itself. To say there is no Build activity is rediculous. You have a serious issue with me,the Indians, and the build itself.I would not give a rats ass what you think of me. But,you will be here enjoying the landing like everyone else or stay home. With all due respect.LoL :)
You might consider spending time at the Salton Sea.Instead of the Havasu paradise.

Don't forge the new sign at the main entrance they put up last weekend and painted this past weekend. Lots of landscaping going in as well.

I have no idea of the financial set up on this deal.Your FIL sounds like a smart and cautious business man.Would not be easy to repossess his product.

Hold on cowboy!
I'm just giving the facts.
I never said i had an issue with you.
There has not been any construction activity all summer even reported in the local paper
I NEVER said anything or made mention about "indians".
I never told you to move somewhere else because i didn't agree with you.
You're just getting butthurt when someone doesn't say something positive about a long overdue project

My campsite over looks the new Casino, I'm there every weekend, I can tell for sure they had crews there quite a bit thru-out the summer. Mainly inside. Going real slow, but I see progress every weekend, even though they haven't even started the pool...I hope that's done by next summer

I guess I misread where you said "the wife and I play alot of keno" and the payouts dont compare to Vegas or Laughlin.

Lol,your absolutely correct there has been no activity all summer.Feel Better Now? I lost count how many trades people come over everyday on the boat."Cove Electrical"had nobody working here,it was an illusion. The concrete Curbing & Sidewalks were delivered Pre fab and installed by children.:) The entire interior was built years ago and purchased on Amazon.com.WTF,talk to people that listen to you. Thanks for the cowboy Comment, proud of it.Watch out for that Horn,we enjoy hearing it.,Along with the siren every Thursday at 5 pm. :)
THE LOCAL PAPER? Give me a break.Like said, talk to ever it is who listen to you.Every time the Landing is mentioned i know you will be along shortly with the Negative. Also, known as "Click Bait" :)

Yup, just got back from Twin Arrows outside of Flagstaff. Played a lot of keno there too and we both came home with money.
Play at Avi too.
Their payouts are at least double than havasu landing on some games and triple on others . That's why I might put in 5 bucks and call it a day. Then i go sit in the marina and watch for Captain Tecopa
Sorry if i wrote it wrong but thanks for understanding
On a POSITIVE note Pattie in the restaurant is awesome. Best server.
And the cocktail waitresses are always there and friendly. $2.50 for a beer is good and they don't skimp on mixed drinks
Unlike the Bluewater (negative) close your eyes rvrspwr, beers are 4 bucks even while you're playing:eek:

I love the old restaurant ,service is a little slow but for the money the foods great ,plus it's old school Havasu
We used to launch in the evening and go for the prime rib special friday and saturday night.
It was pretty good and the price was right and it was a good time
Then we would go on the CA side and watch the stars.
Nobody on the lake
