Not the first I’m sure but this was just shot while filming for the Avalon / Tahoe pontoon 2024 catalogue in MI.

With Danny riding shotgun.I’ll stuff that focker!!
I don’t think Dan will ever get in a pontoon boat with me again. He still has PTSDWith Danny riding shotgun.
Nah, he's right! Sometimes we have to buy a shitty pontoon to appease the wife so we can have a cool 2nd boat. I'm ok with the shit talking. You just offended 2/3s of BenGay Dave’s Place.

Gotta be a 90mph boat. That’d get my ass to Topock in a hurry.
The pup on the way..

I've been wondering about these Pontoons.I don’t think it’s gonna run 90.. my twin 400 boat ran 63-64..
I've been wondering about these Pontoons.
Are they a Displacement Hull or a Planing Hull.
Is it riding on top or pushing through the water.
Or is it some kind of Hybrid. Is a pontoon boat a displacement hull? - BoatingWorld
Pontoon boats have become increasingly popular in recent years as a versatile watercraft for those looking for a fun and relaxed boating experience on thewww.boatingworld.com
A true displacement hull's speed is limited by it's length.
There is a point at which it's maxed and more horsepower won't push it faster.
Which is the fastest? Chasetoon?Depends on the Mfg.. some of them are a lot faster than others.. of the big names Avalon is the slowest but in my opinion has the best layout / windshield and comfort..
I heard today it was solid 80s - I didn’t hear a claimed top speed.Gotta be a 90mph boat. That’d get my ass to Topock in a hurry.

As soon as the boat planes off it's no longer a displacement hull. Total waste of money if you ask me.I've been wondering about these Pontoons.

3 mph faster than 450s.That looks like a fast moving garage door!
3 mph faster than 450s.
I would like to see the engineering behind the structure to handle this much HP and weight placed on the front of boat. It is bolted together with a plywood type deck with small bolting. I added on my twin toon boat over 60 thru bolts into the frame. No
It's 3 tubes skimming across the water.
The skim changes by manufacturer.
I've said this before, I see zero reason to go over 50 mph. They don't 'handle'.
Skim, cut, float, plow is all determined by hp and tube lower designs.
Pontoons are modular built. Pieces are basically bolted down to the same deck by footage.
A great pontoon is saying the same as a great RV.
No they would be actual slower than an Avalon.. but you have to remember it is a larger boat than most the other ones. I believe the chase toons are like 33’ before the motors?Which is the fastest? Chasetoon?
Lifting strakes on the lower edge of the tube help lift the boat making it a planing hull. There are some other tricks. Some you a larger or lower center tube. Regardless there is still a lot of wetted surface taking a lot of power.I've been wondering about these Pontoons.

They posted on their FB page that it ran 80.I don’t think it’s gonna run 90.. my twin 400 boat ran 63-64..
The 450s on an Avalon / Tahoe run 78. So = 80+3 mph faster than 450s.
The newer performance tritoons have lifting strakes. My Bennington will plane out at about 16 MPH.I've been wondering about these Pontoons.

Are you getting a deal ?Now that seems like a logical place to spend $350k! Well done
That’s still moving out.I heard today it was solid 80s - I didn’t hear a claimed top speed.

Usually just the passengers up front or in the middle seat. . Steph is usually telling me to go a little faster these days. I’d be afraid to see what Maddie would do if i wasn’t on the boat. Might find out how fast it’ll go. Just wait. It’s just around the corner for you.Fast enough to piss of the wives and daughters.
Years ago that would’ve been worth it , not nowWhich are what, 3 mph faster than 400s?
Diminishing returns? We are there in Toon life.
That’s what, a $100K spread in MSRP to go 6 MPH faster?

Doesn’t surprise me. She’s got people to see and places to be. If it was Justin i would have been a little surprisedIt’s already starting Soph keeps bumping the throttle when I let her drive the boat.
Had you put a set of jackplates on your boat it would have gone A LOT faster.I don’t think it’s gonna run 90.. my twin 400 boat ran 63-64..
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should
Not with 6 people and fuel.The 450s on an Avalon / Tahoe run 78. So = 80+
3 people and a half tankNot with 6 people and fuel.
Put another 5 and fill the tank. Lucky to hit 60.3 people and a half tank
BIL’s Trifecta will do 60 with 6 people, full ice chests and gassed up. I think the Avalon is a little heavier/slower but the 500’s vs 400’s should offset it I’d love to see a full water test comparison.Put another 5 and fill the tank. Lucky to hit 60.
