The coast guard is not in a good place today they are stealing parts of one boat to keep the other boat running the helos are at lifes end and they are buying used helos from the army the polar star was built in 1973 and is still in service and desperately needs to be replaced the 47MLBs can't get motors replaced and don't have much of a towing capacity and on bigger boats they have to send out two 47MLBs to compete the job they deemed the 52MLBs unsafe for some reason they could tow just about anything with them but after 60yrs of service now they are unsafe and in storage at Cape D
